Trade wars and trade imbalance - Another white man's lie

Daily the Americans have been crying out loud that they are suffering huge trade deficits in their trades with China and the rest of the world. And they conveniently blame China and the rest of the world for the huge trade deficits against their favours. Is this true or the real thing or another big white lie.

Take the case of US China trade imbalance for example. One of the biggest factor contributing to the trade imbalance is that the Americans want to buy all the cheap products Made in China but refused to sell to China what the Chinese want to buy, ie high value and high tech goods on the ground of security. Sticking to this American farce and make belief, what else can the Americans sell to China when everything the average or working class Chinese need could be made and produced in China? This only left with a few food items that the Chinese could not produce themselves or produced not enough ie soya beans, meat and wine. There is nothing else that the Americans can sell to China other than airplanes. China wants to buy of lot of equipment and machinery from the Americans, but the Americans refused to sell. The main reason for trade is to create value and make profits from the exchange. There is no point for China to acquire all the US dollars if they don't use it to buy things from the Americans, converting them to value for its people. See the white lies in this argument?

Relating to the above, the Americans are all the time putting barriers to prevent China from spending their US dollars in the US. China has been prevented from buying many properties and assets and companies which would lead to a healthier trade balance for the Americans. It is the Americans that are refusing to let the Chinese buy or use their US dollars in America to benefit America.

Another major factor is that the Americans did not have to work to have money to buy and buy and buy. They just print money to exchange for goods. Thus there is no incentive for the Americans to want to sell things of value to the rest of the world, especially to China. It could be one of their cunning strategies, let the Chinese accumulate all the American dollars and made the American dollars useless, valueless in a way when the Chinese could not use them to buy American goods.

The fictitious trade imbalance which the Americans refused to admit is that many of the goods and products sold to America were actually sold by American companies operating in China. As the goods were made in China and exported from China, they become exports from China and registered as trade gains to China. An Apple iphone selling for a thousand US dollars would create less than US$10 to a Chinese worker. The bulk of the profits goes to Apple Inc owned by the Americans.

The white men are living with their white lies and using white lies to start another war, a trade war. The irony of this trade war is that ultimately the losers would be the average working class Americans. This is a war that the Americans could win on paper but end up as losers.

What would happen after the trade war?

China would lose the American market. It's products would have great difficulties selling in the USA.
Likewise the Americans would lose the Chinese market. American produces would not sell in China. America would also lose their manufacturing base in China. American companies would no longer make their products in China.

Can China live and continue to prosper without the 300m American market?
Can the American companies survive without the 1.4b Chinese market?
Can the American companies sell its products, NOT made in China, that would be affordable to the rest of the world?

You make your own conclusion.

China is making everyone richer
Thanks to the industrious Chinese workers, they are making everyone richer by producing goods that are not only affordable, but very cheap. The goods and products produced and made in China are now made available not only to the Chinese people but to the rest of the world, the working and middle classes in the developed countries and the lower classes in the developing world.
Many of the poorer people would not be able to buy or afford to buy the goods that made life more convenient if the Chinese did not make them and sell them at a price they could afford. Think of the hundreds of millions of mobile phones, good quality phones, being sold in India and China and Africa, Asia and the rest of the world. The names like Huawei, Xiaomi and Oppo are household names all over the world. How could these people afford to pay a thousand US dollar or more for just a mobile phone? The Chinese are selling them for a fraction of that sum and hundreds of millions of people in the developing world are now proud owners of mobile phones to enjoy and benefit of the advances in science and technology.
The Chinese have made goods cheaper or in a way make money bigger, or purchasing power greater for the same monetary value. The American and European middle class and lower class would now be able to buy more luxury goods made by China that they would otherwise not be able to afford. This is applicable to everywhere in the world. The Chinese people could afford reasonably priced cars, cars costing a fraction of those made in Europe and the USA. Computers, laptops, notepads, are practically all made in China and made available to the rest of the world at a price that is really affordable even to children of developing countries.
At the country level, China not only helped to built infrastructures for many countries, China helped to send their satellites to space, high speed trains, even military hardware for a song. Without China they would have to pay for American prices and in American dollars for the same goods. Would Malaysia be able to even consider building the major ports and high speed trains at Japanese or European prices?
China is helping the rest of the world to stretch their dollars, make their money bigger and not be fleeced by the Americans and the West, dictating their prices and terms of trades with steel chains attached. It is a new freedom for the rest of the world, for the poorer nations of the world, to have the things they want at a price they could afford.
China and Chinese workers are benefitting the world with their productivity at a fraction of the cost of the Americans and the West. More will come from China in electric cars, solar energy panels, windmills to tap cheaper sources of energy. This is only the beginning of China changing the world, to make the world a better and more peaceful place to live.

Elon Musk is bringing Tesla to China
Elon Musk has just signed an agreement in China to build a giant factory to manufacture electric cars. Yes, he is going against Trump’s America First, by turning away from the USA to Made In China. Harley Davidson is also doing the same by moving its factory to Mexico. Both quoted that for their companies to survive they must be in China. Leaving China would kill their businesses.
By moving production to China, Elon Musk is capitalizing on a skilled and discipline workforce that is paid one quarter of what he would have to pay an American worker. And he would also have a market of 1.4b people waiting to buy his cars. His cars would be produced much cheaper and could be sold cheaper or with bigger profit margin. To produce his cars in the USA would be suicidal as his cars would be too expensive and the profit margin too thin to be profitable.
India has been courting Elon Musk for a while to produce his cars in Make In India, even allocating a piece of land for the Tesla factory. The news of Tesla’s giant factory in China is making the Indians very angry, not at Elon Musk but at China. This is typical Indian anti China mentality. China is competing for business and would give the best terms to any investor and Elon Musk is the one that made the final decision choosing China instead of India. Why the hysteria and mass protest to hate China for a decision made by Tesla, the investor? India should compete by being more competitive than China if it wants Tesla or any investor to produce in India.
Trump is dumbfounded with the decision of Elon Musk that is a slap in his face. He should be the one that should be very angry with Elon Musk, but he for once is keeping his mouth shut. Any big American business following Trump’s American first policy is going to die cock standing in the international market of fierce competition. The cost of production in America is just insanely too expensive to be competitive in the international market. But that is another Trump card to bring down the American Empire.
Free trade is here to stay.

The USA’s 21st Century joke – Do little, spend little, achieve big results
The US$350b BRI project by China has stumped the Americans and the rest of the world for its massive infrastructure development, and in monetary terms even bigger than the American Marshall Plan after the end of WW2. Where did China find the money to finance such a mammoth international cross continent project?
After the launching of the BRI, according to Dr Bharath Gopalaswamy, director of the South Asia Centre of the Atlantic Council, “…the rest of the world was watching for America to articulate a vision and come up with a big idea, and Secretary Pompeo outlined what a big idea could look like.”
And this is America’s joke of the 21st Century. To counter or compete with China’s BRI, in a Straits Times report by Nirmal Ghosh, “The United States on Monday sent a strong signal of more robust economic engagement in the Indo Pacific, fleshing out a previously announced strategy for a region described by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as stretching from India’s west coast to America’s west coast – with Asean ‘literally in the middle’.”
What is this grand strategy and how many billions would it cost to rival the Chinese BRI? “The US pledged US$113 million (S$154 million) to support initiatives in the digital economy, energy and infrastructure in the Indo Pacific region, describing these as ‘foundational areas of the future’.”
What? S$154m! This is barely enough to buy Lim Kim San’s bungalow going for sale at S$100m! How is this going to compete with China’s US$350b BRI? Not to worry, leave it to the word’s craftsmen to tell you that this is really big and really a rival to China’s BRI. Before I list out the supporters of this grand American 21st Century initiative, let me ask the same question that was posed on the Trump Kim Summit in Singapore. Where is the meat, where are the details of this grand scheme of things? Or it is just words and pipe dream? KNN, what can $154m do?
According to an admirer of this grand American scheme, a Dr Aparna Pande, director at the Hudson Institute, it is about a targeted approach. “The US knows that it does not have the money to compete dollar for dollar with China,…What Pompeo has offered is that through a variety of measures…the US will provide targeted assistance to countries in the region and hope that those countries will then use that aid to build their capacities.” Huh, what’s that? See how clever is the use of words here to make a mountain out of a mole hill? And you know who are the admirers of the Americans and are in cahoot with them.
Another great words craftsman, a Nisha Biswal, president of the US India Business Council, said the US move was “a hopeful sign of a sustained strategy for engaging the region.” With S$154m to sustain a regional strategy? The amount is barely enough to buy a landed home in Singapore!
Another great words craftsman and supporter of this American joke, Singapore’s Ambassador Ashok Mirpuri said, “This was what was needed to complement the (US) security strategy.” He added, according to ST’s Nirmal Ghosh, “the US plans fit in with much of what the region, specifically Asean, was trying to do, including connectivity, energy infrastructure and smart cities. Anyone see how could this fit in?
This is the wonder of words craftsmen, on how a mere S$154m could do so much, could achieve so much, to be praised sky high, to rival China’s US$350b BRI projects. And of course Pompous, oops, Pompeo concurred, “This is a big one.” Yes, I concur, a big big joke.
If words or speeches can win a war, these words craftsmen would win every war they fought without weapons but words. See the joke and who are the die hard supporters of the jokers?
The Americans have no money and wanted to do a lot with a few penny?

Chinese exclusion policy of NASA turning on its head
The Chinese Space Station will be fully operational in year 2022, two years before the International Space Station will be decommissioned and close shop. Many countries are now scrambling to Beijing to want to be friendly with China to buy a ticket to the Chinese Space Station when the International Space Station is closed down permanently, may be destroyed in space.
The American scientists are also trying to make peace with China to buy their ticket to the Chinese Space Station. Whether the Americans would be welcomed and given a ticket would depend on the charity and generosity of Beijing. The likely answer from Beijing is likely to be strongly influenced by the Americans’ Chinese exclusion policy of NASA. Here is a short write up of this policy in Wikipedia.

‘Due to security concerns, all researchers from the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are prohibited from working bilaterally with Chinese citizens affiliated with a Chinese state enterprise or entity. In April 2011, the 112th United States Congress banned NASA from using its funds to host Chinese visitors at NASA facilities….
Despite growing trade ties between both countries, a close scientific partnership with China has been rejected by several American politicians including Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA), who in 1999 stated:
They [China] are the evil empire.
In 2010, Rep. John Culberson (R-TX) urged President Barack Obama not to allow further contact between NASA and the China National Space Administration (CNSA). In a letter addressed to the President, he wrote:
I have grave concerns about the nature and goals of China’s space program and strongly oppose any cooperation between NASA and CNSA’s human space flight programs without Congressional authorization.
In April 2011, the 112th United States Congress banned NASA from engaging in bilateral agreements and coordination with China. As stated under Public Law 112-55, SEC. 539:
None of the funds made available by this Act may be used for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) or the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) to develop, design, plan, promulgate, implement, or execute a bilateral policy, program, order, or contract of any kind to participate, collaborate, or coordinate bilaterally in any way with China….’

Such anti China policy and thinking built on the premises of white supremacy and to prevent China from access to space technology would now be coming full circle. The Americans in their arrogance and pride, would never believe or expect that the Chinese would be able to acquire space technology without the assistance of the West and would always be left behind as backward a country.
The Chinese have found their way to space and would now have the monopoly of a Space Station and could now do exactly what the Americans have done to them. They would exclude the Americans from the Space Station for the very same reasons the Americans excluded them. The Chinese would have their American exclusion policy of CNSA written in the same vein as NASA’s exclusion policy.
It would be very silly of the Chinese should they do anything else to allow the Americans on board their Space Station. The evil Americans have been doing everything possible to exclude the Chinese from acquiring advanced space technology and all other technologies, treating China as enemy. It is only natural for China to return the Americans the same favour and brand them as the evil Empire.
What goes round would come around. Let the Americans die cock standing, be the outcast, the pariah of the space community of nations. This is justice and must be seen to be done, on the real evil Empire, the Americans.
Good riddance.
China can continue with its space programme with countries that are friendly to China like Russia and some European countries on the basis of quid pro quo. The International Space Station was built and financed by a group of western countries and Russia, pulling resources to make it happened. China built its space station on its own resources and technology. The Chinese did it by themselves.

Who is running the USA
The anonymous letter appearing in the New York Times about how the staff of White House trying to bypass Donald Trump or to block him from making policies that are detrimental to the Americans gives the Americans and the world food for thought as to who is running the USA. If what was reported is true, Trump is a lame duck or at least only able to do so much and most of the American policies, especially foreign policies are dictated by his staff against the wishes of Trump.
This speaks clearly why the Americans are putting so much pressure on North Korea and literally doing things that Trump would not have agreed, offending the North Koreans by raising sanctions and placing more unacceptable demands on the North Koreans. Trump is saying and willing one thing while his staff is doing another.
The reasons for the White House staff to act in the way they are is due to Trump’s amoral activities and also his incompetence, his ‘impulsiveness results in half-baked, ill informed and occasionally reckless decisions that have to be walked back.’ What it is saying is that when there is a rogue President, the staff under him will act independently to check on the President, to obstruct or hijack the President’s decision making process, for the good of the USA and the American people. The President could be the president and continue ranting and acting wildly, but these would not be allowed to derail policy making process and bad policies from being implemented.
This is perhaps one of the strongest point in American democracy when the power of the President is not absolute and good men and women would stand up to do what is right and good for the country. No rogue President or head of state could bring down the USA or work against the interest of the people and country.
How many countries in the world has such a system of checks and balance on executive power? Of course for such a system to function, there are conditions and also good people who are brave enough and not beholden to the President to think critically, logically and independently from the President. It calls for a lot of guts and conviction to work against the President to protect the good and interest of people and country. American is unlikely to have a dictator as his power could easily be checked. Trump may try to abuse his position of power, but it is not going to be easy and unrestrained. This is what democracy is all about.

China standing up to American gangsterism
The Americans must be taken aback by the firm and strong stand of the Chinese in taking them head on in the trade war, a punch with a counter punch. The Americans thought the Chinese are still pushovers like before, like the time when they blatantly struck the Chinese Embassy with 4 Tomahawk cruise missiles for no reason and the Chinese could not hit back after suffering damages and lost of lives to the unprovoked attack. The American gangsterism must be stopped and China has been in a hurry to stop these international gangsters from their bullying.
The trade war is only the beginning, tit for tat, every move with a counter move and more. China is not going to be bullied again. In the preparation to invade Iran, the Americans have warned all countries to stop trading with Iran. The Nato countries have ignored this sanction. Russia and China too refused to abide by this unilateral and illegal sanction against Iran. Both Russia and China have increased their purchases of Iranian oil to the ire of the Americans.
The Iranians have warned the Americans that they would attack American ships and military bases if the American gangsters strike. China did not stop at just saying no to the Americans. For the past decades, the Americans had intercepted Chinese merchant ships in high seas on fabricated charges and even boarded Chinese ships to check their cargoes. This too would not be allowed to happen again.
China has sent 100 warships to the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf, to protect their tankers and merchant ships from harassment by the Americans. The stage is set for a high sea confrontation between the PLAN and the American Navy. Chinese ships are strictly out of bound from the American gangsters and China is prepared to defend its rights for freedom of navigation.
Would the American gangsters dare to attempt to intercept Chinese ships again and provoke an open conflict in the Indian Ocean? A 100 warship presence in the Indian Ocean say the Chinese meant business and would react to any American hooliganism against their ships.
The Russians too are standing up to the Evil Empire in Syria and the Mediterranean Sea. It is conducting a big naval exercise and telling the Americans to get their warships out of the way or they would not be responsible for the consequences. And against the threat of the American Evil to protect the remnants of IS in Idlib, the Russian, Iranians and Syrians are mounting a final assault to rid Syria from American sponsored and backed terrorists once and for all.
The Persian Gulf and Syria could see the Americans triggering a major war with China and Russia any moment.

What the world would be like like without the USA or China?

Many people would have taken sides to praise or curse at the USA and China, being the two super powers on earth and influencing and affecting every country when they sneezed. Let's take a look at the world if one of these powers is not around.

What would the world be like without the USA?

Take the case of the world without the USA. The Red Indians or native Indians would still be the owners of North America and the buffaloes would roam the prairies. There would be no nuclear bombs, no air planes, no automobiles, no electricity, no apples or computers and mobile phones and many modern inventions and conveniences.

There would also be no wars of the scale the Americans are committing, no genocides of Red Indians and Arabs, no mass murders of the Koreans and Vietnamese, no Korea War or Vietnam war, no invasion of Iraq and Libya. Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi would still be alive. And no CIA to finance, train, finance and support terrorist movements. The Americans are desperately trying to save their terrorists holed up in Idlib, Syria, to avert them from being wiped out by the Russians. And likely no drug syndicates supported by the CIA to provide funds for the CIAs do commit more war crimes and crimes against humanity.

There will be no little USAs trying to punch above their weights, challenging and provoking China and Russia.

And there will be no democracy to talk about. The world would be a little more primitive, but more peaceful, without wars and all the sophisticated war machine for killing more people.

What would the world be like without China?

There would be no Belt and Road Initiative, no big infrastructure projects in Asia and Africa. There would be no rude Chinese tourists throwing their money everywhere and demanding attention. There would be no cheap consumer products for the poor and not so rich. Consumers would still be buying super expensive IBMs and Apple products, expensive computers and mobile phones, no cheap and good Xiaomis or Huaweis or Oppos and household appliances.

The third world countries would have no access to cheap financing to develop their countries. The raw material rich countries would not have big buyers like China to buy their raw materials, or according to the western narrative, to exploit their natural resources for cash or developments. The bulk of Australian natural resources in 480 bulk carriers now circulating outside Chinese ports is a good example of not just having the natural resources, you must have a willing buyer or else your natural resources would be as good as dirt if no one wants to buy them. Australia can try to sell to Europe, Japan and USA and see if there are takers. In this case, obviously no takers.

Without China, the Americans would continue to rule the world and bully everyone with regime change and military threats. I think there would be no wars as the Americans would over power every country and rule over them. There would be no resistance to the American fire power. There is another view to this. Wars would continue as the Americans need to create wars to sell their war machine or else their military war complexes and industries would close down, no buyers, no need for weapons and war machines.

Would the world be more blessed, a better place, without China or the USA?

PS. Without the Americans, there would be peace in the Middle East. Israel would be history. There would be several million Arabs still alive and populating the area instead of being war collateral, American's modern day version of genocide. If the Arabs are still fighting among themselves, they would be using knives and riding on camels.

Who is paying for Trump’s trade war?
Trump is happily raising tariffs after tariffs and the Chinese reciprocating as much as they could on American exports. So, who is paying for all the tariff hikes? It was reported that American trade deficit with China for the month of Jul/Aug actually gone even higher after the tariffs. What does this say about the effectiveness of the trade war?
American exports to China are not only going to be more expensive, China has even stopped buying from American farmers and looking for other alternative sellers. When alternative sources are found, there would be no need to go back to buy American produce. American companies in China are also feeling the squeeze as their exports back to the US would be more expensive too. Can they afford to close their factories in China and move back to produce in the USA? For one, Boeing is losing all the thousands of aircraft that China has ordered and would be ordering. Deals cancelled.
What about Chinese exports to the US especially the consumer goods and home appliances, including mobile phones and computer related products? The Chinese products are so cheap that the 10% or 25% tariff would not make them more expensive than the European or Japanese made. Ultimately the American consumers would be the one paying for the tariff hikes in more expensive Chinese products that could be had cheaper.
Trump’s tariff hikes are actually taxes on the American people. Trump is actually raising taxes on the American people, forcing them to pay more for Chinese imports. And of course the American govt would gain from these taxes at the expense of the American people. It is all done for the good of Americans, so they said.
Who ends up the winners and who ends up the losers?
There is another big loser, another little USA, ie Australia. After trying to attack China like the Americans, banning Huawei and ZTE from 5G mobile phone operations in Australia, China has shut its door to Australian products. As of today, 480 Aussie ships, loaded with cargoes from iron ore, oil, LNG, farm produce, etc etc are circling outside Chinese ports wanting to sell/unload their goods at cheap sale price, but China is saying NO to them. Just like the American soya bean ships, they are just sailing around the Chinese ports praying for a change in Chinese policy, and an end to the trade war to let them in.
The Aussies may have a lot of raw material to sell. But without buyers, or big buyers like China, the raw material and commodities are worthless. The African countries are benefitting from the trade war. China is buying from Africa instead.

China making amendments to BRI plan
The original Belt and Road New Silk Road Plan includes high speed train cutting down from southern China through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia to Singapore. Its west bound line cuts through Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, the Middle East towards Turkey and Europe.
This Plan is now modified taking into consideration the choice of Vietnam and India not to participate in the BRI. The southern line would now commence from Kunming, China through Laos, Cambodia and further south to Singapore bypassing Vietnam completely. The west bound line would also by pass India as well as India has decided to build its own Silk Road with Japan, starting from east India and ending in west India.
When the BRI is completed, goods from Vietnam and India to and from Europe would have to go by air or by sea, not by train, unless they build their own high speed or snail speed train to connect with the Chinese high speed train lines.
A third amendment is in the making with Mahathir cancelling all Chinese high speed train projects in Malaysia. It is likely that the southern point of the Chinese high speed train would end in Bangkok, Thailand and missing Malaysia and Singapore altogether. Goods from both countries to and from Europe and China would likewise go by air or sea. The heavy stuff that would be too expensive to go by air would have to go by sea in snail speed to Europe and China by then.
A fourth possible development would be for Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and India to build their own high speed train network starting from Vietnam down to Singapore and back up west to India.
There will then be two Silk Roads by land, one built by China and one by India, to transport goods to the various countries along the New Silk Roads. India may want to call it the New Sari Road. Oh it can extend all the way to Japan as well.
There is no need for China to beg the unconvinced to join the bandwagon if they chose to be left out of the game plan.

China got no more bullets in trade war with US?
Today the new tariffs on Chinese goods go into effect. Would it change the trade balance between the US and China? Would it make America great again?
Some Americans are delirious and crowing that China has no more bullets to fight the Americans after the latest bout of tariff hikes. US raised tariffs on US$200b and China could only raise US$60b. So apparently the China could not raise any more tariffs, as there is no more products to raise tariffs on. This is about all that China is buying from the Americans.
Did the American won in this supposed final round? Jack Ma just announced that his promise of creating 1m jobs for the Americans is off, no deal, deal cancelled. Haier, Chinese consumer manufacturer giant that bought over the appliance arm of GE has stopped selling goods made in the USA to China as the tariff has made goods made in America more expensive to export to China. Haier is not the only China manufacturer setting up factories in the USA. And not only that production would be cut down, leading to more job losses, Chinese companies planning to set up factories in the USA, to provide jobs for Americans are hold back their plans. The cancelling of hundreds or thousands of Boeing aircraft would also mean job cuts in Boeing.
When the dust finally settles after this brief war initiated by the US, China would have found many substitutes for America produce and goods. The American farmers would have to find another 1.4b market to sell their produce and goods. India is a good potential, provided they have the middle class that can afford expensive American produce and goods. Look at what is happening to the Australians, now crying but no tears left. Trillions of Chinese dollars vanished in the air and now pleading for mercy.
China has been responding and retaliating American attacks so far and has not taken the offensive yet. Wait for the next wave when China starts the counter attack. Americans are deluded to think only they can hit others, can start wars against others, can imposed sanctions on others and not the other way. In the phases of war, the one who has the initiative by starting the war always looks good at the beginning of the war. If they cannot defeat the enemy, just like Germany and Japan, and when the counter offensive starts, the table will turn.

The Americans are so pathetic
After pledging to give US$113m for a regional cyber infrastructure, read as building castle in the air or space, a pittance to any of the natural aristocrats in Singapore, the Americans are pledging to give another US$300m to Asean for security cooperation. What a joke? A pauper is a pauper. When you have no money, don't pretend to be a rich man and throw a few pieces of crumbs and expect the recipients to be grateful for it. And this is the sorry state of the American Empire, wasting all its money in fighting wars instead of doing something useful for its people and the people of the world, especially its allies.

How big are these few hundred millions compare to the US$350 billion China is contributing to the Belt and Road Infrastructure project for the whole of Asia? This is like a tiny drop in the ocean.

Below was reported in the Channel News Asia.

"SINGAPORE: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo pledged on Saturday (Aug 4) to provide nearly US$300 million in new security funding for Southeast Asia.
Pompeo unveiled the figure to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting of foreign ministers from the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and other officials from around the world in Singapore.
"As part of our commitment to advancing regional security in the Indo-Pacific, the United States is excited to announce nearly US$300 million dollars of new funding to reinforce security cooperation throughout the entire region," he said.
"This new security assistance will advance our shared priorities, especially to strengthen maritime security, develop humanitarian assistance and peacekeeping capabilities and enhance programmes that counter transnational threats.""

Just like the US$113m, where are the details? Or it is just another hot air? At most, the US$300m would be tied to buying American weapons, weapons that they have over produced and have no use for except to fight wars. And to make the weapons meaningful to the Asean countries, the Americans would be agitating and provoking more tensions in the region and then tell the Asean countries, "See, China or North Korea is going to invade and conquer Asean countries. Quick, quick, here are the weapons, take them as cheap price. The low interest rate would be paid by the US$300m we pledged to help Asean."

How many silly Asean countries would fall to this trap again?

The Americans have become another one trick pony. Conduct wars, start wars and sell weapons. There is nothing good coming from the Americans except wars and more wars. They did not know what else they can do to make the world a more peaceful and prosperous place except to conduct wars and create tensions everywhere they go.

President called prostitutes, Supreme Court judge in sexual assaults
Trump has been exposed several times for calling prostitutes and for groping the fairer sex. These could be quite normal activities of individual indiscretion and no one would pay much attention on such private matters. But the president of the USA…? And his nominee to the Supreme Court judge bench has been accused and exposed for sexual assaults and related activities, revealed in public hearings and reported in the mass media.
What is striking in both cases is the lack of shame in both individuals in high offices with not thinking that they are still fit for public office. And what is also striking is that the whole American society did not see anything wrong or offensive in these acts committed by their leaders, a president and another going to be a Supreme Court judge, listening to cases on injustice, crimes, immorality, sexual offences etc etc. And they have been fabricating such sordid stories about Kim Jong Un and his late father of womanising to discredit them as unfit for public office.
Still not getting it? Ok, just imagine that one is the president or PM of Singapore and the other is going to be appointed to our very own Supreme Court. How would the Singaporeans and the mass media here react to them? A speaker and an MP had resigned and faded away quietly.
In the USA, the two individuals are strutting around with no sense of guilt or shame. It is like a new normal, nothing unusual, nothing undesirable, nothing to fuzz about. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the characters of these two men in high offices. They are fighting to stay in high office despite the revelations in public hearings.
In the little red dot, even a legal divorce would not speak well in some people’s minds. Personal indiscretion is an absolute no no. No scandal is allowed if one is to hold public office. Maybe this is one of the reasons why our political leaders and leaders in high offices are paid so highly and so highly regarded, like immortals, no smears.
Are the American way of life and moral values something that we should emulate as the desirable way going forward? Would Singaporeans accept our people in high offices, in public offices, to have similar indiscretions as Trump and Kavanaugh?
What do you think?

Space exploration and cooperation - Politics is out
The failure of a Soyuz rocket to bring two astronauts to the International Space Station marks the ending of an era of space exploration where the Americans were calling the shot. After their failed mission to send astronauts to space with a batch of highly trained astronauts killed when Apollo exploded on take off, the Americans have lost confidence in their own rockets. They have tacked on to the Russians and the Soyuz rockets to send American astronauts to the ISS.

The failure of the latest launch is going to be a watershed in American/Russian space exploration. The big question, would the Russians be able to sort out the problems before the next mission? In the meantime the Americans are still crowing about their superiority in space technology and keeping China at a distance, obstructing China from participating in ISS and from sending Chinese astronauts to the space station. They are still calling the shot to sideline China despite being passengers in Russian rockets.

NASA's top official Bridenstine was quoted to say that in space exploration, politics has been kept separate from such cooperation. The cunning Americans are saying this because they desperately needed the Russian rockets to send American astronauts to space. Without the Russian's cooperation, they would have to play out their space exploration act in the Californian desert. But when dealing with China, politics would not be kept separated from space exploration and they would die die want to keep China out of the international space programme. This is what the hawkish John Bolton said recently, '''If they're (China) put back in the proper place they would be if they weren't allowed to steal our technology, their military capabilities would be substantially reduced. And a lot of the tensions we see caused by China would be reduced,"... He indicated that Washington was prepared to take more action to restrict sensitive high-tech exports to China. "We did this and continue to do it in terms of dual-use technology that could affect nuclear, chemical or biological weapons or ballistic-missile development.' Quote from CNA.

The silly Americans like John Bolton may continue to blindly brag about their superiority in technology in particular space technology. This idiot is so ignorant about the dismal fate coming the American way when the ISS outlived its expiry date in 2024. But the day of reckoning would come knocking earlier.

At this moment there are 3 astronauts in the ISS, an American, a German and a Russian. They were due to return home in December but the flight is delayed until further notice pending the Russians confirming they could fly the next rocket. And there is only enough food till April next year in the ISS. If the Russians were unable to resolve their rocket problems, these 3 men would be mummified in the ISS. There is no reliable American rocket that can do the job of flying them home.

Would the Americans come crawling and crying to Beijing and beg China to help them bring their astronaut home? Would they be chiding the Chinese not to get politics involved in space exploration, forgetting that they were the bastards that have kept the Chinese out of the international space exploration programme and from joining the ISS? Would idiots like John Bolton be still shouting about their superiority in space technology and wanting to keep China from stealing their technology or would they be desperately trying to steal Chinese space technology or Chinese rockets?

For the moment, NASA have made meek advances to China to want to be let into China's Space Station, which would be the only station in space after ISS came to the end of its lifespan in 2024. China would be stupid to allow the Americans in by the backdoor after being kept out of the ISS for so many decades by American hostility and arrogance.

The story of American astronaut trapped in the ISS is still evolving and will hit critical stage come next year if the Russians are unable to launch another rocket to the space station. Time is ticking away. What goes around would come around. The Americans must have a taste of their bad medicine.

The next big American anti China hooha could be 'Save American astronaut from Space' with the American politicising the issue and branding China as a heartless nation, not willing to cooperate and help to save poor American astronaut dying in space station. And all the silly Americans and bananas would rise to echo the American shitty political agenda.

Saudi Arabia squeezing Trump’s balls
Trump has been flip flopping over the savage killing of Khashoggi. What is the relationship of Khashoggi with the USA? Never mind, this is not that important anymore. What is important is that the Americans cannot do anything about it and Saudi Arabia and MBS would move on as if nothing has happened.
Why, why are the Americans and even Trump, could not do anything against the Saudis?
Listen to these threats coming from the Saudis.
1. Saudi Arabia will switch from petrodollar to petroyuan. Americans mati. The end of the American Empire.
2. Oil price will shoot to US$400.
3. Saudis will invite the Russians to set up military base in Saudi Arabia.
4. Saudi Arabia will ally with Iran and join the Russia/China camp. When this happened, Israel will no longer be able to control and mess around with the Arabs applying their divide and rule policy.
5. Saudi Arabia will dump US Treasury Bills.
What would the above mean to the Americans and Israelis? The Middle East would all be part of a new alliance with Russia and China leaving the USA and Israel as the two lone wolves facing the might of the Arab world, and losing control of oil as a weapon of war.
So, what can Trump and the Americans do? Sanctions? Remove the Saudi royalties? No, they would turn their heads, start to whistle and pretend that nothing has happened. Let’s move on, human rights, abominable crimes, what’s that?
The Americans are increasingly facing such Hobbesian’s Choice and becoming hapless while their allies defied the Empire and do as they please. The Americans are losing control of their allies. All the chips they held over their allies are becoming meaningless. The end of the Evil Empire is near. In this Khashoggi’s case the Americans would look so ridiculous over their claims of moral superiority, or righteousness, of anything by hypocrisy. This will be like the Americans unmasked, the Devil will be exposed.
Trump thought he could have his ways by pushing everyone around. This time he is completely at the mercy of the Saudis. He could do nothing to bring justice for the savage dismemberment of Khashoggi, very highly and likely a CIA operative.
