Covid19 - A valuable lesson from China by Bruce Aylward
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8dIi_13COM

China has changed course of COVID-19 outbreak: WHO expert

China has changed the course of #coronavirus outbreak, says a WHO expert in Geneva. Bruce Aylward says a rapidly escalating outbreak in China has come down faster than previously expected. (recorded)

The above is a very informative video clip of a report by the team leader, Bruce Aylward, of WHO that visited China near the peak of the epidemic. The video was done on 9 Mar, the date tells how it was then, and how the world, especially Europe, failed to heed the advices given by Alyward and is paying a very heavy price for it today. The lessons provided by China were never learnt by Europe and instead of preventing more Wuhan, Europe has turned into another Wuhan, not just Italy or Spain.

What is interesting or disgusting is that Bruce Aylward kept reminding the viewers that though he was the head of the WHO team that visited China, he was not speaking on behalf of WHO. Some asses in WHO must have protested for what he said was in a way praising China's effort in containing the virus. And finally WHO head, Tedros also came out to say the same thing as Aylward, praising China and telling the world to learn from China. This to the West is shocking, how can WHO praise China when the West especially the Americans were trying their daily best to condemn China, after spreading the virus in Wuhan to blame it on China?

Bruce Aylward had a very good understanding of the Covid19 and how China managed to curb its spread and the valuable lessons could help to prevent more Wuhans outside China. It was a wasted effort as the epidemic in Wuhan, stopped by China, is now a world pandemic with Europe as its new epicentre and the USA next.

This is a 55 min video worth listening to. Aylward said then that the world was not ready but could be ready very fast. Unfortunately many countries did not take him seriously and were unprepared and thus not ready when the virus hit. China bought them time, done it and showed to the world how it could be done....but the world missed this golden opportunity to slow down the spread of Covid19.

To Bruce Aylward's credit, he made all the necessary recommendations at the last part of his presentation that could have helped many countries in the handling of this pandemic.

Covid19 - When Singapore is Code Red
The govt has just announced that it would not hastily move the country to Code Red status given the strong negative impact of Code Orange that is already hurting the country. No one would want Singapore to end up with Code Red as the consequences are grave, very grave. If you want to know what Code Red means, just look at what is happening to Wuhan and a few Chinese cities that have been locked down.

In history, locking down of cities meant that the country had abandoned everyone and everything in the city, condemned and needed to be destroyed. Some would even set fire to the city to clear all the poisonous and infectious stuff in it. The people in modern Wuhan are luckier. Though the city is locked down, medical aids and supplies of everything needed are still flowing in. China has not given up on the people in the city and is trying every way to save the people there. And the countries around the world are also scurrying to find a vaccine to treat this virus. The good news is that a solution will be found soon, and only a matter of how soon. There is no despair in Wuhan though the situation is dire. China today is big and strong enough, economically and financially able to provide for the 11m population and keep them alive and going.

What if Singapore hits Code Red? How long can we survive with most economic and social activities running to a stop, with the borders closed, no coming in or going out? How long can our reserves last? How long can the people's personal reserves last without a job, without an income? How long can the companies and businesses last unable to do their businesses? Singapore does not have a big motherland like China that could go on life as normal to provide for the 6m people under locked down. Imagine if we have the silly number of 10m people or more being locked down and waiting for food and essential items to survive.

A Code Red for Singapore would mean turning it into a ghost city with most activities confined at home, minimal economic activities going on and the streets empty, the shelves of supermarkets empty, the hawker centres, food courts, restaurants empty. Changi will not have more than a hundred visitors flying in and out daily. The only place that would be full of activities would be the hospitals.

Though the govt may still have the reserves to provide for the people for sometime, many people would run out of money in less than a month or a few months, no money to pay rent, mortgages, PUB bills, medical bills, and whatever bills.

In such a situation, Singapore would be at the mercy of the whole world, the willing countries that would be kind enough to donate to keep its people alive.

Code Red would be a nightmare for Singapore and Singaporeans and the situation makes worse with so many foreigners here needing food and shelter and financial assistance.

Has the Covid19 infection peaking and under control in Singapore?
The above chart shows the number of cases as on 16 Feb, a total of 75 cases positive so far. Singapore has had 5 clusters originating from foreigners from Wuhan, China, considered external sources. The clusters included the Chinese health product shop Yong Thai Hang, Seletar Aerospace Construction Site, Grace Assembly of God Church, Life Church and Mission and Grand Hyatt Hotel. These were the primary locations of first infection.

There were a few cases of untraceable source like the DBS Bank and hospital workers. When the new cases could be traced to their origins, there is some assurance that the viruses are not free floating all over the island. When new cases were confirmed and sources unknown, this would raise alarm and fear. Fortunately most of the cases could be linked to the five primary clusters or known contacts. This has gradually reduced the fear that one can be hit anywhere in the island.

The daily hit rates has been hovering around 2-5 until the sudden surge with 9 cases in a day. The previous day high was 8 cases. Luckily the next day saw a drop to 5 cases and then to 3 cases. The comforting feeling comes from no more new cases that came out of the blue.

Is the situation now under control in Singapore? Has the infection rate peaked and starting to come down? This can only be confirmed in the days ahead if new cases do not exceed 3 and could be traced to the original 5 clusters, a sign that the viruses are not running wild and in the air. And hopefully, if this is the case, the Code Orange could be scaled down to Code Yellow.

This may take a week at least for the authority to be confident that this is the case. It is easier to raise the level of risk to a higher state, but more difficult to bring it down. Yesterday was another day when new infected cases were down to 2, both traceable, one repatriated from Wuhan and the other linked to the DBS case, in a way saying generally the air is free of coronavirus except around those infected.

Covid19 seems well under control in Singapore
SINGAPORE: The real estate company behind the Seletar Aerospace Heights work sites linked to five cases of COVID-19 "immediately halted construction" after it was notified of the first confirmed case on Feb 9.
Boustead Projects confirmed in a media release on Tuesday (Feb 1Cool that the five Bangladeshi Work Pass holders - identified as Cases 42, 47, 52, 56 and 69 by the Ministry of Health (MOH) - are all workers under the company’s subcontractors.... CNA

WHO has praised Singapore for its effort and system in controlling the spread of Covid19 in the island. The contact tracing team and the medical workers have done an excellent job in keeping things manageable. In the above CNA report, the company Boustead, whose employees have been fought to be infected did the necessary to halt construction work in its site and to do the decontamination and cleaning work.

The Chinese health food shop Yong Thai Hang, the Grand Hyatt and the DBS case did not seem to be spreading and are looking good. The only case that is a bit worrying is the Grace Assembly of God church, it is producing the biggest cluster of infected persons, 21 in total. If this case can be contained with new cases limited and getting fewer, the situation here could be improving.

We had a day when local infection was down to 1 case, plus 1 imported case of a child that was repatriated from Wuhan. It was unfortunate that the number has gone back up to 4 yesterday, with 3 coming from the Grace Assembly church and 1 connected member of the DBS case. Today new infected cases are 3, 2 from Grace Assembly church and one from Life church.

Let's hope things would not go further down. Those under quarantine are getting lesser and doing well. Those recovered and returned home are also on the rise. Both a good sign. The first foreign case from Wuhan has fully recovered and out of hospital.

Team Singapore, keep up the good work. At the rate it is going, we could return to Yellow and then to normal life soon.

Covid19 - Exaggeration or underestimation of risks
At the time of writing, there were more than 70,500 confirmed cases and over 1,700 deaths globally. Yet, these numbers are a far cry from the H1N1 epidemic which saw more than 760 million cases and over 284,000 deaths between 2009 and 2010.

Even the common flu causes as many as 5 million cases of severe illnesses and half a million deaths in a typical year of seasonal outbreaks in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. The case-fatality rate of the COVID-19 appears to be about 2 per cent of all cases, and lower for cases outside of China, which is lower than that of the SARS outbreak from 2002 to 2003 of almost 10 per cent.
Compared to these numbers, the COVID-19 should not be a cause for panic. Yet, the reaction to mainstream media reporting on the virus seems disproportionate....

This heightened public concern in the case of the COVID-19 may seem baffling given its relatively low number of fatalities compared to other viruses. But risk psychologists argue that this reaction is, in fact, expected because individuals’ risk perception tends to be guided by cognitive short-cuts such as the “memorability heuristic”.... CNA

The above is from an article in the CNA on a report by researchers from the NUS-Lloyd’s Registration Foundation Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk (IPUR). It it timely to educate the public on the power of the media and the power of certain people or parties that have different agenda to hype about this Covid19 epidemic. Is the risk of the Covid19 exaggerated in this case?

By now we have reasonable data to show how serious this Covid19 is compares to H1N1 and SARS. The situation in South Korea seems out of control. Italy and Japan are two candidates, including Iran that may be the next centre of Covid19 explosion. We are lucky and well managed to contain our spread. We have two days of only 1 new case and a day of 2, excluding an imported case from Wuha. Yesterday we have 0 case.

At this point we may breath a sigh of relief that it is not that serious after all in Singapore, or it is, or could it be worse? Many may have taken for granted that the spread is being contained but forgotten that had China not locked down a few major cities, the spread could be horrendous given what we have seen earlier. The immediate locked down of Wuhan and a few Chinese cities have arrested the spread and kept a lid on this epidemic and today we may gloat that it is not that serious. What if China has not locked down its cities, how widespread would this Covid19 be? A few hundred million infected cases?

On the other hand the Americans have been crying hell and screaming about how dangerous this covid19 is and still blaming China for all sorts of stupid reasons and allegations. They took the lead to ban Chinese citizens from entering America and cancelling many flights, in a way cutting off people travelling between the two states. A few western countries like Australia quickly followed suit. Over reaction, over exaggeration? Did the Americans know something that the world did not, that this Covid19 is not just like a common cold and could be like H1N1 and spread around the world like H1N1, infecting millions of people and causing more deaths that what we are seeing today? Trump is furious for the return of infected Americans on cruise ships. Why?

With two sides of the coins in our face, have we over exaggerated or underestimated this Covid19 virus? Would the govt think that hey, this is not really a problem, can be easily handled and we can still go about increasing our population to 6.9m, to 10m, to 20m? Singapore has no fear of a virus or disease epidemic, we can control and manage them and we can have our cake and eat it too?

The initial contact of this virus were in the churches, a shop and a hotel. What if the initial contact was in a jam pack train? What would the scenario be like? How would the contact tracing effort be like to trace people from a moving train? Would the seriousness of this epidemic be underestimated and all caution thrown to the wind and the govt continues to press on with its open leg immigration policy to increase the population by another few millions? Can Singapore risk an epidemic of this nature and survive or be totally wiped out in a matter of months?

Lets hope our super talented millionaire ministers would take a step back and think carefully about such an epidemic and do not underestimate the risks involved and our survival as a congested city state of 6.9m or 10m or 20m.

Covid19 - temperature rising in public transportation
Taking temperature of staff entering building is now a must in many offices and buildings to act as an early detection and prevention to the spread of Covid19. Staff with a higher than normal temperature are suspects and it is best to separate them from the rest of the staff as a an added precaution. Though a bit inconvenient, this is necessary given the seriousness of the Covid19 and how easily it could spread to people around the affected person.

I would believe that all govt agencies and ministries would also be conducting this temperature check on their staff. What I think is a missing link in this preventive and precautionary measure is to take the temperature of bus and train commuters. These are the first entry points of people before they were bungled together in packed buses and trains, and if they are already infected, it would be too late to do anything subsequently.

Would it not be necessary and essential for the public transport operators to do this part of the exercise? They have many guides in the station helping passengers to get in and out of trains, a job that in many ways is not really necessary or important than to conduct temperature checks on commuters at this point in time. Or is it too troublesome and would involve too many manpower that it is better to miss this part of the exercise?

What do you think? Commuters in public transport never mind if they are sick, never mind if their temperature rising? Or since it is so burdensome, never mind lah? If there is a case and is spreading in the train or buses, ok or not?

Covid19 -13 new cases in one day, 5 Mar.
SINGAPORE: Singapore announced 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday (Mar 6), the highest daily jump since the outbreak started here.
This brings the total number of new coronavirus cases in Singapore to 130 since the first case was confirmed on Jan 23.

One more patient has recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of discharged cases to 82.
Out of the new cases, nine are linked to the cluster involving a private dinner function at SAFRA Jurong on Feb 15.

Seventeen cases have been linked to this cluster so far. In a briefing on Friday, the Ministry of Health's (MOH) communicable diseases director Vernon Lee pointed out that not all the cases were at the dinner.

"We are still doing investigations. Not all of the cases were at the dinner. Some were family members or had links, but they were not necessarily at the dinner. CNA

KNN, just as we thought the situation in Singapore has stabilised with 2-3 cases a day, now this looks like an explosion, 13 cases in one single day. And from the reports, these individuals are highly sociable and probably been sharing their new acquisition quite freely and more cases are going to stand up to be counted. No wonder the politicians have been heard talking about expecting more cases everyday. They must have been briefed of this SAFRA Jurong cluster now ballooning with 17 cases to its credit.

Thank God that the church clusters have quiet down and not sprouting more new cases or else we are going to be on a run. The next few days are going to be closely watched and many people would be on tenderhooks when the possibility of a bigger number is very high now.

Don't pray pray. My karaoke group made a wise decision to stop meeting until further notice. If there is another explosion of this scale or bigger, some countries may start to put Singaporeans on quarantine or ban Singaporeans from visiting them completely.

Covid19 -What will Singapore do next?
What will the Singapore xxxxxxxxxxxxx do next?

Lower the Code Orange to Code Yellow, remove some existing restrictions, open the floodgates to allow any Tom Dick and Harry to come to Singapore and freely distribute the corona-viruses?

Above is a comment by an anonymous blogger asking what would Singapore do next given the experience of Italy with infected cases shooting to high heavens? Now, how to answer such a question to be meaningful? I know many people are wondering if Singapore would continue with its open leg policy to let every wildlife to come in as it means money, plenty of easy money in terms of levies and fees and also to boost up a dying economy that is struggling to stay off the recession path.

Let's look at the statistics available on the Covid19 pandemic and see if they make any good sense and can help Singapore govt to work out a sensible immigration policy that could still allow it to continue to collect easy money by allowing more wildlife to come in to provide jobs for Singaporeans. Look at the below chart provided by CNA and the countries that are most affected by the Covid19 virus.

NOVEL CORONAVIRUS CASES
PLACES CONFIRMED CASES REPORTED DEATHS
China 80,695 - 3,097
South Korea 7,313 - 50
Iran 6,566 - 194
Italy 5,883 - 233
France 949 - 16
Germany 795 - 0
Cruise ship (Diamond Princess) 696 - 7
Japan 455 - 6
Spain 374 - 8
Switzerland 281 - 1
United States 213 - 19
United Kingdom 210 - 2
Belgium 200 - 0
Netherlands 188 - 1
Sweden 161 - 0
Norway 147 - 0

Statistically speaking, not my personal opinion, there is a clear statement from the above chart that says Covid19 is a disease of rich countries. Look, other than Malaysia and Singapore, no SE Asian country or South Asian or African country is seriously affected, did not even deserve to be in the chart. What does this mean? The virus likes rich people, likes to go to rich countries, likes to go for cruises, likes to go to churches, to casinos, and other than China, S Korea and Japan, it has a penchant for Europeans, and this is only the beginning. More and more Europeans and Americans would be visited by the virus.

What has this got to say about Singapore's open leg immigration policy? Can one use the above statistics to say that wildlife from poor SE Asia, South Asia and Africa are safe bets and can continue to come in freely, free from Covid19 virus, or at least the chances are very slim? This looks like a piece of good news for Singapore's immigration dependent economy. Can continue to do as before, no need to stop wildlife from coming in if they are from poor countries.

What do you think? My use of statistics make sense or not?

Would our politicians use the above statistics to justify the continuation of the open leg immigration policy to grow our economy?

Covid19 - Social distancing at least 2 metres
The authorities will have to double down on measures within Singapore, even as some basic surveillance at the borders continue, said the minister, who is the co-chair of a multi-ministry task force set up to handle the coronavirus.

“We will look at the whole range of social distancing measures,” he said at a press conference held at the National Press Centre.

The Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday that senior-centric activities by government agencies will be suspended for two weeks. Over time, the Government will have to ramp up and implement more social distancing measures, Mr Wong said.

READ: COVID-19: People's Association to suspend courses and activities for seniors
“We will look at a fuller range of social distancing measures we can put in place including for public events, community activities, school closures, workplace social distancing - including things like staggered hours, telecommuting - as well as religious services too. We will cover a broad spectrum and we will see what we should put in place,” Mr Wong said.

Singapore already has other social distancing measures like isolating patients, putting close contacts on quarantine and issuing Stay-Home Notices, he added. CNA

The above quotes from CNA show how serious the Singapore govt is taking this Covid19 threat to the wellbeing of Singaporeans. The latest spurt in number of new infected cases due to irresponsible social behaviour has prompted the govt to close down on many activities associated with senior citizens. The main point is to keep social mixing down to a minimum with social contacts to be kept at maybe a minimum of 2 metres apart to be safe. Big social gatherings are to be avoided.

The concept sounds very good and should be reasonably effective. The biggest loophole and unavoidable is the pack trains carrying commuters all over the islands. Many of them are less than 20 cm apart with some idiots unconsciously chose to stand very close to other commuters even if the train is not really full when they could keep a reasonable distance from other commuters. Most of these are wildlife from countries where sticking close to each other with no respect to the private space of a stranger is the norm. You can smell them whenever they are close to you in the trains.

So how to maintain the 2 metre distancing gap when the trains are carrying 1 or 2 million commuters daily? This is like putting money into a pocket with a big hole in it. Heheheh, 6.9m population or 10m or 15m population is the way to go.A serious infectious disease could wipe out the whole population within weeks.

What do you think?

Will Singapore reconsider its reckless unrestrained policy of importing foreigners?
Novel coronavirus: Will the returning 30,000 Chinese workers become collateral damage in Singaporeans’ disenchantment with the government’s pro-foreigners policies?
Singapore, if and when orange turns into red, may face its first real test of nationhood. No amount of pseudo-Bicentennialism celebration can substitute for the coming challenge of community trust. Already some signs of panic buying and irresponsible behaviour have been showing. Medical swipes, thermometers and surgical masks are being hoarded amid a stream of fake news and mischievous online postings.
And there is this huge group of 30,000 work-pass holders from China due to come back to Singapore after the New Year break. They will be put on the mandatory 14 days leave of absence first. Do we sympathise with them as we would the people of Wuhan? Or shun them as collateral damage in Singaporeans’ overall disenchantment with the PAP government’s pro-foreigner policies?

The above is the concluding part of Tan Bah Bah's article appearing in theindependent.sg and his question on Singapore's unrestrained immigration policy to increase its population for economic growth numbers.

Without battling an eyelid I would safely answer that the unrestrained immigration policy will continue unperturbed. For growing of population is now the only game plan that this one trick pony has to keep the economy appearing to be growing. Without this, to keep a semblance of economic growth, the Singapore economy would go into negative territory and might even register a recession that it is trying so hard to avoid.

So how, with the risk of importing deadly contagious diseases getting higher with more wildlife from third world slum countries coming here? Fear not, and this is the unique reason why Singapore has no fear of such diseases. Deadly contagious diseases like SARS, swine fever, bird flu and this coronavirus would not come from dirty and filthy slum third world countries. Such diseases somehow have a special penchant to only attack China, a country that is hundreds of times cleaner and more hygienic than filthy third world slum countries.

So, maybe Singapore will tweat and fine tune its foreigner importing programme by not importing new migrants from China but from the rest of the filthy third world slum countries. Third world wildlife are cleaner and disease free. In this way no deadly and contagious diseases will find its way here. And this can be scientifically proven by using data to support this theory. So far all the deadly contagious diseases only came from China, not from third world slum countries. QED.

DORSCON Orange - Has Singapore jump the gun too soon?
KUCHING (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - The state government has instructed those in Sarawak who have been to Singapore to undergo 14 days of self-quarantine at home.
Deputy Chief Minister Amar Douglas Uggah said the decision takes effect on Monday (Feb 10) in view of Singapore's orange alert for the coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, China.
According to the island republic's Disease Outbreak Response System Condition or Dorscon, orange means the outbreak is deemed to have moderate to high public health impact.
Datuk Uggah said Sarawak was worried by the occurrence of coronavirus clusters in Singapore in a church, a health products shop and a hotel where a business conference was held. Sarawak News

The declaration of Code Orange for Dorscon is a very serious announcement on the threat of the coronavirus spreading in public areas. It is indirectly saying that Singapore is a dangerous place to be in. If this is true, then is it safe not to wear mask going around? What prompted Singapore to raise the alarm was the detection of a few cases of infection that were not linked to China tourists, suspecting that the virus is now in the air in Singapore. We have Grab driver and Cisco policeman being infected as well.

If these cases could not be traced to their sources, it could present a serious spread of the disease in Singapore. Hopefully the sources or links could be established to confirm that the virus is not free floating in Singapore air or in public areas.

The impact of Code Orange is taken very seriously by other countries as in the case of Sarawak imposing stricter measures against those who returned from Singapore. Let's hope that in the next few days the danger of free floating virus in Singapore is confirmed as not the case and the Orange code could be scaled down to Yellow to give some assurance that the risk level is not that high. The negative impact of Code Orange cannot be underestimated and must be handled with careful consideration.

The discovery that the two cases were linked to the China tourists in a church and the cluster identified and contained is a good sign that things are nothing getting out of control. With only two new cases a day in the last two days and hopefully the number will go down will give reasons to downgrade Dorscon to Yellow will be most welcome by our kiasi Singaporeans.

However, with the new DBS case, things look a bit tricky. Hope this person did not take the train to work. Can't imagine how many could be affected in a crowded morning train. Let' welcome 10m population as our gift to our future children. Make it 20m! Nothing will ever happen to us, not Dorscon Red, no way. Orange is about the worse that could be given our very efficient and effective contact tracing system and teams.

PS. Anyone try to treat this virus with Newater?

Covid19 - Desperation can lead to recklessness. Protect the heartlanders
The lockdown of Malaysia raises the problem of Malaysian workers working in Singapore, commuting daily for decades as a natural order of things that is not natural after all. The lockdown means many businesses would not have their workers to do whatever they are supposed to do. The businesses are desperate, and the govt too is also desperate. No business means no taxes, work not done, contracts not fulfilled, jobs not done, undone, material wastage, machine downtime, redundancies etc etc all leads to losses. The companies cannot afford it, the workers too cannot afford it if they could not get to work.

Now the crisis is how to house these workers in Singapore to bypass the lockdown? Every stone would not be left unturn to find accommodation for these transient workers, could be temporary, but not sure how long. What is frightening is to allow them to invade the heartland, the sacred sanctuary of the Singaporeans, a place that they called home, a place they can feel safe and secured, whether at work or returning home to rest and to be with their families.

There have been many cases of reckless and irresponsible flat owners renting the flats to hordes of sex starved wildlife, men with a lot of hormones to release and living next doors to small Singaporean families, young families, young wives, young daughters without thinking of the safety of these female folks. Even the oldies, the retired and living alone can be quite scary with so many young wildlife, some looking so hostile and wild as their neighbours. The worse hours are working hours when the manfolks are at work. Even if they are home, the tiny weeny specky manfolks are no deterrence to these wildlife.

While everyone is desperate to find lodging for the Malaysian workers, and foreign workers, please be mindful that the safety and security of Singaporean families must not be compromised for their convenience. The HDB heartland is sacred, the safe sanctuary of average Singaporeans. Their homes must not be violated and invaded by strangers and wildlife, especially hungry sex starved men from all over the world, people whose backgrounds are unknown.

How could Singaporeans, especially young couples at work feel safe, not worried when they are not at home and their neighbours are wildlife from God knows where? How can oldies feel safe even at home when their neighbours are burly wildlife that could throw them out of the balcony or gatecrash into their homes? How would the womenfolks and young girls and children feel when being stared at by wild men when they move to and from their homes? Why should Singaporeans be made to live in fear, with wildlife as their neighbours?

Be considerate, be mindful, be responsible to the Singaporeans in whatever actions you take, whatever policies you make for short term economic gains that may harm the Singaporeans in their homes, in the heartland.

Do not dumb wildlife into the heartland.
Do not violate the homes and neighourhoods of the average Singaporeans.
Do not upset the social balance and tranquility of the heartland.
Do not endanger the safety and security of the heartlanders.

Covid19 - Why China, South Korea, Italy, Iran and Spain?
Top of the charts for having the more people infected by Covid19 are China, Italy, Iran, South Korea and Spain. What they have in common, enemies of the USA. There are obvious reasons to support this conspiracy theory. China needs no further explanation as it has been branded as the Number One Enemy of the USA for daring to upset the status quo dictated by the American Empire. How can any country challenge the USA as the most powerful, the richest, the biggest economy in the world, in fields of science and technology. China must be put down at all cost. The series of deadly diseases across China in continuation, nonstop, is a case in point. The trade war continues beyond just trade but sabotage and biological warfare to cripple the Chinese economy.

It is no surprise that China would have to be the first country to receive the first blow of Covid19 infection, right in the heart of China, in Wuhan, at a time when the Chinese were returning home to celebrate Chinese New Year Reunion with their families. There was no Chinese New Year celebration this year with many Chinese cities being lockdown and the whole nation mustered to fight this deadly and highly infectious disease.

The Americans were laughing haughtily and cockily and blaming the Chinese for starting and spreading this disease and lying to the world, not transparent, hiding the truth and whatever, even calling this the Wuhan Virus, the Chinese Virus, raising anger among the white racists to hate China and Chinese with people of Chinese origin or looking Chinese being attacked and beaten up in western countries. The evil and wicked Americans have succeeded in smearing and demonising China and Chinese. While the truth as to the origin of this dangerous virus is unfolding, and pointing to the Americans and their evil hands, other countries that the Americans were unhappy with also became target of this American Virus created from American Lab, Fort Detrick.

South Korea was the first outside China to be hit severely by this Covid19. It was the second worse affected country for several weeks in terms of number of infection and death. But why South Korea, isn't this the closest American ally in the East, a semi colony of the American Empire? Yes, but the South Koreans are getting too smart for their own good. They wanted to make peace with their Northern brothers, they wanted to get rid of American forces in their soil, they did not want to pay for 'American protection' to have American soldiers and weapons of war in their country. In other words they did not want to serve the interest of the American Empire and paying for it. Now this kind of smart thing is no good. They must be taught a lesson not to play with fire or undermine the interest of the American Empire.

The next severely affected country, you guess it, America's Enemy Number Two, Iran. All the immediate neighbouring countries of China did not have Covid19 infection or with only a handful of cases. Why and how did the virus leapfrogged to South Korea and Iran, the latter more than a thousand miles away, bridging deserts and high mountain ranges? The virus is very clever and very selective, know where and how to fly to Iran to infect the Iranians. And the strain in Iran is even more deadly than the strain in Wuhan with higher mortality rate.

And from Iran it leapfrogged again to Italy. But why Italy, a Nato member and thus also an American ally? Italy committed the sin of going behind the backs of the Americans to be part of the BRI. Italy is the beach head of China's BRI project into Europe. The Americans tried very hard to twist the arms of the Italians to break off from the BRI project. But the Italians have a mind of their own and see the BRI as the best thing to happen to Italy's economy and future growth. They needed the BRI to boost their dying economy.

Now, how could the American Empire tolerate such defiance from a small European country? There you have it, Italy must pay the price for going against the American Empire. And the Covid19 conveniently sneaked into the heart of Italy's industrial region and the rest is history.

Spain has the same problem as Italy, or committed the same sin, to be part of the BRI. How could Spain be spared? No way, Spain too must be taught a lesson, to tear it away from BRI. There you are, Spain becomes the second most infected country in Europe after Italy.

The moral of the story, do not become an enemy of the evil American Empire. The Covid19 is just a biologicial weapon to inflict the pain on the people and to cripple the economies of those who dare to disobey the American Empire, to have a mind of their own, to want to break free. In fact the whole Europe is part of the collateral damage as Europe, the EU, is embarking on a new path, to break free from the American Empire, to chart its own destiny. This cannot be allowed to go on unchecked.

The Covid19 genie is let out of the bottle to do what it can do best, to protect the interest of the American Empire.

Do these make sense?

Heng ah, no crooked bridge
The mad rush at the Causeway just before the lockdown of Malaysia was a pathetic sight to behold. Ordinary citizens from both sides of the Causeway scrambling to get back to Singapore for a simple reason, to work and to put food on the table. The jams, the frustration were all worth it if they could get to Singapore in time, never mind the inconvenience, never mind having to lug their luggages and whatever, never mind if they have to walk across the Causeway on foot. It was a great relief for those that made it. For those who could not, Singapore was two weeks away if nothing changes or could be longer.

Many must be very grateful that the Causeway was there to allow them to walk over when the cars and buses could not be of much help. Walking across the Causeway was much faster and convenient than be caught in the massive jam and vehicles crawling at ant speed. Many must be saying thank God they did not have to climb the long and winding crooked bridge that was supposed to replace the Causeway. The height and steep gradient, and the length of the proposed crooked bridge were obstacles that made walking an impossibility even if they wanted to. The crooked bridge if built would be a cruel joke on a time like this when people needed to just walk across the straits.

With this harrowing experience, would anyone still think the crooked bridge was a good idea and would want to revive it when another joker comes to power? Is there something to learn from this difficult experience of the people that needed to cross the straits? Singapore side has a lot to learn on what it is like in an overcrowded island with 5.6m population and whether it is a foolish idea to make this bigger. The Malaysia side would have to ponder if the idea of a crooked bridge should be history, like the idea of a 6.9m population with some crazies saying 10m or 20m also can.

What do you think? Should the people from both sides of the Causeway heave a sigh of big relief that this Covid19 pandemic is a valuable lesson for the megalomaniacs not to push their luck too far. Things can get worse than this.

Coronavirus: What could the West learn from Asia?
Coronavirus: What could the West learn from Asia? By Helier Cheung - BBC News 21 Mar 20
Below is a precis of an article by Helier Cheung that also appeared in Yahoo News. While the clown President Trump and his evil men in Washington tried to shift the blame on China for their own failures and incompetence and clowning when China broke the news on 31 Dec 19 to WHO, they could have taken effective measures instead to prevent the spread of the virus to the USA. When this news was reported, there was hardly any cases in the USA. The virus could not have jumped to the USA overnight. The truth was that the virus was all over the USA and other countries but no one was testing them no one knew about them and allowed the virus to spread undetected and uncontrolled. So stop blaming China for your own incompetence and mischief.
Below is Helier Cheung's article in brief.

The number of coronavirus cases in the West is skyrocketing, and countries have announced drastic measures, including school closures and lockdowns.
The outbreak hit many countries in Asia several weeks earlier - and some have been praised for containing the number of infections. For example, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan all kept case numbers relatively low - despite their proximity to mainland China.
What did they do differently - and are there any lessons for other countries?
Lesson 1: Take it seriously - and act quickly
"The UK and US lost an opportunity," says Tikki Pangestu, a former director of research policy at the World Health Organization (WHO). "They had two months from what happened in China, yet there was this perception that 'China is very far away and nothing's going to happen'."
Lesson 2: Make tests extensive, and affordable
Cases in South Korea spiked initially. However, it swiftly developed a test for the virus - and has now tested more than 290,000 people. It conducts about 10,000 tests daily for free.

Lesson 3: Trace and isolate
It's not enough to just test those with symptoms - tracing those with whom they were in contact has been key.
In Singapore, detectives have contact-traced more than 6,000 people - locating individuals with CCTV footage, testing them, and ordering them to self-isolate until their results are clear. In Hong Kong, contact tracing goes back to two days before someone develops symptoms.

Lesson 4: Early social distancing
Social distancing is considered one of the best ways of containing an outbreak.

Lesson 5: Keep the public well informed and on side
"Unless you get the co-operation of the public, your policies may not be adhered to, and enforcement only goes so far," says Prof Pangestu. "The important thing is to show that policies are based on scientific evidence."

Lesson 6: It's also down to individual attitudes
It's far too simplistic to say, as some have, that Asians are more likely to comply with government orders. In Hong Kong, public trust in the government is low - and there have been months of anti-government protests. But, in one of the densest cities in the world, many have voluntarily socially distanced themselves - with some even avoiding Lunar New Year gatherings, the equivalent of skipping Christmas events.

War, when China was attacked by Covid19 virus
When Covid19 was secretly sent to Wuhan, China, it was an act of war. When China discovered the seriousness of this deadly and highly infectious virus, the country went on a war footing. Everything was stopped in the path to confront and fight this virus. Cities were locked down, people stopped from moving around, from their normal daily activities. It was a matter of life and death. The Chinese govt knew what was going on and took this very seriously. Nothing is going to stop them from fighting this vicious enemy to kill the Chinese people and cripple its economy. All resources, people, machine, experts etc etc were mustered to corner the enemy and contain it in Wuhan, to be destroyed once and for all.

In less than 3 months, China has defeated this virus. China has won the first battle of this war. There is no more new cases in China from this virus. Any new cases are from external sources coming into the country from foreigners and Chinese returning home. Now that China has settled the domestic threat from this virus. it is time to take on the enemy behind this attack, on this declaration of war on China and the Chinese people. China will defend its honour and its rights, throw punches against wild and unjustified mischievous allegations and accusations by the vicious racist regime.

China will fight on every front against the enemy. China now has its back covered and can focus all its energy and resources to fight the real enemy against the Chinese people. Though China has not openly named the enemy, everyone knows who the enemy is. It is war going forward from now. Every punch thrown at China would be returned with bigger force. China would go on the offensive.

In the mean time, China is also helping the victims of the same enemy to fight this virus. China is sending medical experts, equipment and whatever that is needed to fight this virus threat. China will take the lead in this fight against the virus and the enemy of the people of the world. The people of the world by now would have found out that the virus originated from the enemy's backyard. The enemy cannot hide anymore.

The people of the world must stand up, stay united to fight this enemy of the world. This enemy is bent on killing a big chunk of the world's population just to dominate and continue to maintain its supremacy as the top dog of the human race. They would stop at nothing to continue to spread more deadly diseases all over the world to reduce the population of the world they deemed to be over populated for their own good.

Would the enemy of the world stand up to be identified? Like it or not, this is World War 3. The people of the world are fighting to survive this virus scourge planted by the enemy of the human race, first in China to kill the Chinese people and then to their enemies. The rest of the world is just collateral damage that they would love to have to complete their mission to reduce the population to 4b people on earth.

People of the world cannot be deceived for too long and all the time. The truth of this Covid19 attack is surfacing daily and the picture is clearer by the day.

One good thing about this virus is that the enemy could not believe that this thing is uncontrollable and what they did to infect others will come back to infect them quicker and worse than they could have ever imagined.

PS. Whoever started this monster, justice will prevail and your crime will be repaid, unkindly if needed. Some may be cheering and patting their backs for crippling the Chinese economy, that they have succeeded and China is now in trouble. Hurray! Laugh, for China could have the last laugh.

How it started was no accident. It was targeted, planned with precise coordination to strike China and the Chinese people at their most vulnerable moment and right in the heart of China. The evil ones are showing their fangs.

Covid 19 - Who is mishandling and mismanaging the crisis?
The western media and the clown team in Washington have taken every opportunity to smear China for 'missteps and mishandling' this coronavirus pandemic. It is China's fault, the virus came from China, called it Wuhan virus, now China virus, all with the wicked intent to create hate against China and the Chinese people. I am not going to deal with the origins of this virus and leave it to the scientists to investigate and tell the world the truth. The origins could come from the people that are accusing China of it. Remember, when China was hit with the virus, many western countries, including the USA imposed travel ban on anyone coming from China. Italy was the first to impose this ban. How could the virus be so widespread in their countries despite the ban?

Let's turn back the clock to the onset of this virus in Wuhan. It was a new virus, no one knew anything about it. Initial symptoms were similar to common cold or flu. Without knowing how potent or contagious this virus is, no one would be in a position to cry wolf. It also took time to investigate and to find out what this virus was all about. It is silly to expect Chinese scientists to scream to the world that this is a dangerous virus without any evidence or proof. Even when the Chinese reported to WHO, there were only 45 cases in Wuhan then, many western critics and anti China bigots were laughing and calling it a hoax. When China made the report, they must have done even due diligence to know that this was serious. How much more do they expect? But the mischievous West would not want to believe so. And that was the main reason why, after two months of outbreaks in China, with Wuhan and Hubei province being lockdown, the West, the evil men in Washington were giggling and having a party laughing at the misfortune of China. They did nothing, they did not believe the virus could come to them.

The Japanese and the South Koreans acted on the genetic sequence of the virus provided by China in mid January, the same time the rest of the world, including the US received this information. They acted on it quickly and managed to control the spread to manageable cases. Why they did not complain about China not giving them enough time to act on this pandemic? Well during this grace period, time bought by China's lockdown, clown Trump instead was lying and lying to the Americans that the virus was under control in the USA! So no need to do anything. It was a hoax, it would blow over.

Now they are putting the blame on China for so called missteps and mishandling the virus. The American NSC has issued a circular to all American agencies to blame China, blame China. Who is having the missteps and who is mishandling the virus? The success story of China in containing the spread of the disease in the whole of China, a country of continental size is proof that China did not misstep or mishandle the virus epidemic. If they had, China would be in very serious shape, with hundreds of thousands of infection and death all over China like what is happening in the USA.

Remember, China was hit first, did not know what hit them, and had to find out what hit them first before they could take counter measures. China was struggling to know what they were dealing with in the first place. No one was there to give them any early warning, any advice on what to do. They did the most serious lockdown in history, something the West dreaded and called it draconian. Did China have any better choice? What if China did not lock down Wuhan and Hubei and the virus spread all over China? What would the West be saying?

Did China misstep and mishandle the epidemic given what is happening to China today, no more domestic infection, no more Covid19 virus inside China? Any new cases were imported from people coming back into China. China did not handle this virus well is the western despicable narrative. Let's see how well they are handling now that the virus is paying them a visit. China was able to contain the virus in Wuhan, just one city. What is happening to the fumbling USA and the clown administration led by a group of wicked white racists? The whole of USA is infected! Who is mismanaging this spread? Who is failing to control the spread of this disease? See how the grins on their silly faces have all but disappeared altogether?

Starting from March Europe has become the new epicentre and the USA is going to be next. Did they misstep and mishandle the virus epidemic, now a pandemic? They had two months of warning from China. They got information coming out from China of this new virus and could see how dangerous it was and how the Chinese were coping with it. China bought them time to prepare for this pandemic. China was the guinea pig to experience this scourge before the West. The West had all the information and privileges that China did not. Oops, the Americans knew they had the virus all over their states but pretended that it was not there, no need to test. Treated them as common flu. China started from groping in the dark. They shared whatever they had with the world, with WHO. What more do the evil men in Washington expect from China? Should not they be telling the world about this virus in the first place?

Now the virus has exploded all over the world, with the worse hits in Europe and the USA. Who is mishandling the golden opportunity to stop this virus from spreading? Who is misstepping? The complacency and incompetence and inaction of the West are all there for the world to see. When the virus was full blown in China, many did not have a single case in their country. the USA had a handful, that was all. And they allowed the virus to explode exponentially in their own countries.

Who should be responsible for the pandemic? China is now the safest place from being infected by Covid19. If China had mishandled this, millions of Chinese would still be infected and hundreds of thousands would have died and many going to die.

Look at the mirror you Americans assholes. Stop blaming China for this pandemic. When the truth is out eventually, the world would not forgive you for giving this American virus to them. H1N1 should be called American virus. Spanish flu should be called American flu, etc etc. Ask the native Americans of the bubonic plague, small pox, anthrax, venereal diseases spreaded on them to terminate them from this world, what should they called these diseases? White men's diseases?

The evil white men in Washington would have their due justice delivered to them one fine day.

PS. The Americans are getting disillusioned with the bunch of wicked clowns in Washington. They have seen what the clowns are up to, instead of fighting the virus, the clowns are just talking nonsense, wasting time demonising China but doing absolutely nothing to help the states that are facing crisis, lack of medical equipment to fight this war.The biggest joke coming from clown Trump, they are going to help the world, to help Iran, to help North Korea, when they could not even have enough medical equipment to help themselves!

Covid19 - The Americans must come clean and stop lying to the world
The Americans are furiously trying to make China the scapegoat of this Covid19 pandemic. The attacking lines of the Americans, 1. The virus started in China 2. China was not transparent in providing information about the virus, so China must be responsible for this pandemic. By attacking China, calling the virus Wuhan Virus or Chinese Virus, the Americans are trying to deflect the attention of the world on their irresponsible behaviour in letting this American Virus to spread all over the world. The more desperate the Americans are to put blame on China, the more suspicious it becomes of the conspiracy theory that this is America's biological warfare against China but backfired into their own faces. The presence of more than 300 American soldiers in Wuhan is no pure coincidence.

So far every country has been very busy trying to fight this war and has no time for politicking and questioning what the Americans are trying to mislead the world. No one cares, they have no time to care about what the Americans are lying and smearing China. It is saving the lives of their people first. Many Americans governors and mayors too are doing the same, to save the lives of American people, except for the few obnoxious and wicked people in Washington, spending all their time and effort to smear China, to stir trouble, wanting to start a war, instead of fighting this virus.

While the pandemic is exploding, many controversial news and incidents are being exposed that put a big question mark on the roles of the Americans in the spread of this virus. Many of these incidents are pointing at the Americans as the probable culprit in spreading this virus. When this pandemic is over, the world must demand the Americans to come clean and be transparent and provide information on the following:

1. The medical records of the American soldiers participating in the World Military Games in Wuhan, China weeks before the outbreak in Wuhan. The information should include details of these soldiers, their units, health and activities and movements while in Wuhan.

2. The Americans must provide a full account on the reasons for the closing down of Fort Detrick, an American biological weapons lab, what happened, what safety protocols were violated and what biological weapons or viruses were released or escaped from the lab? How many people were infected and fell sick, what were they infected and the agents that escaped from the lab. The Americans would not have closed down this weapons lab if the problems encountered were not serious enough. The world and the American people need to know the truth. Please be transparent and responsible and come clean.

3. How many Americans died of coronavirus and were misdiagnosed as common flu and when did these people died from the undisclosed virus infection.

4. The Americans must tell the world the various types of coronavirus in their possession that are part of their biological weapons to be used against other countries. There must be an investigation into this biological warfare to find the real evil men behind it.

5. The Americans must also be transparent about the biological pandemic exercise that was carried out just a few months before this pandemic involving the Bill Gates Foundation, the details of the biological threats and the objective and goals of the exercise.

6. Since the Americans are so determined to make China responsible for this pandemic, it is about time the world make the Americans responsible for H1N1, Ebola and Mers etc etc and to compensate the affected countries for them. And not to forget to investigate the American's role in this Covid19 pandemic and to pay for their criminal acts.

There are many questions that the world would like to know about the parts the Americans played with respect to their arsenal of coronavirus and their biological weapons and the many incidents of major deadly diseases affecting other countries especially countries that are enemies of the Americans and not happening to the USA or their allies and crony countries.

The Americans must not be allowed to divert the attention to others when they could be the real culprits behind all the biological diseases happening in China and other parts of the world. They are not innocent! The Americans are not angels!

Covid19 - American homeland under attack
While the whole world is being locked down because of Covid19, the gravity of this war against a real enemy of humanity has forced countries fighting fake wars to kill innocent people labelled as threats to their countries to pull out their evil forces from the battle fields and bring them home. France, Britain, Czech and other cronies of the Evil American Empire have changed priorities. Fighting Covid19 is real and immediate danger, not poor tribesmen in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Syria etc etc. These poor tribesmen have no real means to pose any danger to these outrageous European powers or the Evil American Empire. They are branded as threats by the evil Americans to be used as bogeymen to start wars, to raise tension, instability and to give the Evil Empire's soldiers a reason to exist and to be in those countries.

Anyone ever bother to think how could the Iraqis, branded as ISIS or the Talibans be a threat to the Evil Empire in the USA or even North Korea, a poor country suffering from economic sanctions imposed by the Evil Empire be a threat to them? Would the North Koreans be so crazy or idiotic to want to take on the evil Americans if not forced into a corner? No country in this world would dare to attack the USA. Only fools would believe in the American white lie that America is under military threat from outside forces.

Covid19, a God sent enemy, has rendered the mighty military forces of the Evil American Empire totally useless. No amount of nuclear weapons, aircraft carriers, 1000s of military bases, biological weapons, CIA agents etc etc, evil men like Trump, Pompeo and gang could defeat this invisible enemy, but good enough to keep them very busy. With the evil men caught by this Covid19 pandemic, there will be less wars and less innocent people being killed by the wicked Evil Empire.

Instead, the Covid19 has started to attack the soldiers of the Evil Empire on the ground and in the aircraft carriers and warships. American soldiers are also on lockdown, cannot go on shore, no country would allow them to visit after their wicked wars against the weak and poor tribesmen. They are being attacked by the Covid19 and fighting for their own lives. The Iraqis would have some peace, the Talibans and Afghans would have some peace, even North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Colombia etc etc would have some peace as the evil hands would be kept busy, full of Covid19s to deal with.

The victims of the Evil Empire shall say a prayer of thanks to Covid19 to keep the evil Empire at bay. Covid19 is not all bad and comes at a time when the Evil Empire was trying to start more wars, to kill more innocent people that are living their own lives in their little corners of the earth and minding their own business. Keep the Evil Empire very busy for as long as possible and there will be peace on earth. The most outrageous part of this Covid19 is that it attacks the Americans in their homeland. Homeland America is under attack by the soldiers of God! The Evil Empire is invincible against any country but not to the One above. Some of the evil men in Washington still think they the luxury to start wars outside their homeland. Nay, the war in the hearts of America launched by the trillions and trillions of invisible Covid19 soldiers would wear them down. 100,000 infected is only the beginning.

And no country can help the evil Americans. All their allies and cronies have their hands full trying to fight this invisible enemy. The only country that could help the Americans is China. But the Americans have made China its arch enemy, meaning fat hope, China would fold its arm and watch the demise of the Evil Empire. Trump and Pompeo can continue to shout 'Blame China, blame China'. The One above is smiling at their stupidity.

God or Allah is answering the prayers of those praying for peace from the Evil Empire.

Covid19 - Is Singapore heading for an exponential increase in new infection?
Singapore has been hailed as a model country in the handling of this Covid19 pandemic. About a month ago I wrote a piece saying that the situation here was looking like plateauing with 1-3 cases daily. When the cases hit above 10, it was still looking comfortable. Then we had a couple of days when new cases hit new highs of 47. Our consolation was that many were imported cases, of returned Singaporeans, PRs and residents.

Wednesday's 73 new cases started to ring a bell. Thursday there were 52 cases with 14 cases unlinked. Friday there were 49 cases with 9 cases unlinked. Things are not looking good now. The unlinked cases, not imported, are worrisome as the virus could be free in the air. Though still a lot of the new cases were imported, about half were local cases with two new clusters in Fengshan Sparkletot, a play school and a British International School. Friday we are witnessing another new cluster in Singpost Centre. The CNA chart below is looking frightening. It is looking like going exponential in our small ways.

As of today things seems to be going on as per normal as people going about their lives without much inhibitions. But the ministers are preparing the people for things to get worse, asking Singaporeans to expect more infected cases going forward. Singapore is still lucky as the infected cases are found in all places except the MRT trains. Cannot imagine what it would be like if a few infected people took the train during peak hours. All contact tracing will be futile with unknown commuters moving in and out of a moving train and getting infected.

The only solution as was brooded in the UK, to let everyone get infected and those who are weak would have to go. And to make this happen faster, lets bring in more foreigners, take the opportunity to increase the population to 6.9m or more and the net result is that we will still have population growth and GDP growth. I know this sounds silly and scary. Would anyone really dare to think this way? The Brits backed out of this idiotic thought of letting the infected die by letting the virus infected everyone to get community immunity.

Pray we don't go exponential as the graph is pointing. We need a trigger, a special event or incident to make this a reality sooner than expected. The GE, if called now, could be just the event and if suay suay there is a big spike a few days after, all fingers would be pointing to you know who.

PS. Saturday there were 70 new cases with 14 unlinked and 41 imported. Total infected is 802.

Covid19 - Why lockdowns failed
China was the first country that imposed a lockdown on big cities like Wuhan with a population of about 15m and the whole province of Hubei with another 50m population. And the effort bore great results with the Covid19 virus contained and as good as obliterated in 3 months. No more local transmission, Hubei unlocked and Wuhan about to be unlocked with life starting to return to normalcy.

Many countries have also followed China's example of locking down cities and region but are failing. Some countries like Singapore, South Korea and Japan did not really lock down their country or cities but seem to be doing fairy well. Why are the western countries failing, especially Italy and Spain, and why locking down American cities would also failed?

There are three fundamentals that would ensure some kind of success in a lockdown. A lockdown is a stringent measure that aims to contain the virus in a particular spot, city or region. When announced, no one leaves or enters the area. And it is pointless to announce a lockdown in advance to allow people to leave quickly. Those who left would bring along the virus in them to spread wherever they go. This was exactly what happened to Italy. You don't announce a lockdown in advance to allow infected people to leave before it comes into effect. After a lockdown, in China's case, all the few cases outside Wuhan and Hubei were quickly tackled and isolated to prevent further spread.

Now Trump is going to do a lockdown on New York. Would it work? No, it is too late, the virus is all over the USA. This brings me to the second fundamental, to nip the problem in the bud. When the problem is small and contained, it could be killed on the spot. This means cornering the virus by contact tracing, quarantine them and testing all those that have come into contact with the infected person. In this way, the spread could be arrested and any one that missed contacted, when infected and reported, the whole process would swing into action again to bring all those in contact with the infected person into quarantine. This is where Singapore did well, swift enforcement when the problem is small and not allowed to grow and spread. This was also the case in other parts of China after Wuhan was locked down.

The third fundamental is testing. In a lockdown, the virus is contained in an area. Infected person isolated, suspects quarantined and tested. And because infected and suspected are identified and confined, there is no need to test the rest of the population. They would only be tested when infected or suspected to be infected. In places where there is no lockdowns, the problem is not contained, and worse, if there is no testing, those already infected would be spreading the virus everywhere they go. This is the problem in countries that introduced half hearted measures in lockdowns and testing only those infected. The virus was having a great time, unrestrained and spreading freely. Oh, the test must be free or minimal cost to get people to come for the test.

Today, many countries have the virus all over. Any forms of lockdowns must be nation wide, like the whole of Italy or the whole of the USA, the whole of UK, to be meaningful and effective. And after the lockdowns, isolation of infected, quarantined of those they have contacted and testing everyone of them must follow to restrain the virus from spreading further. No testing, no contact tracing, no quarantine, no lockdown, no success. To contain and stop the virus from spreading means serious effort to contain, no half hearted measures as the virus would spread freely given the chance.

PS. Lockdown is completely useless when the virus has bolted. Trump would not be able to comprehend this simple logic.

Covid19 - The Americans are crying, suffering and dying, but fighting
This is what the New York Police spokesman said after the first policeman died from Covid19. The only thought that comes from this warmongering state is fight, we will continue to fight. Going down on their knees to beg for forgiveness in not in their mindset. Did they know what they are fighting and who they are fighting?

Stop all the wars and trying to start new ones. Stop that mad dog Pompeo from spreading more lies. Stop spreading lies that America is threatened. It is the Evil Empire that is threatening everyone. No one can afford to attack America and live for another day. No one is threatening America. It is all a white lie to justify wars. Bring your soldiers home. The world needs peace. The people of the world needs to live in peace and be free from the Evil Empire's killing, oppression and suppression. Remove all the sanctions against countries that the Americans unilaterally branded as enemies and threats to their Empire. Free the people of North Korea, the people of Iran, the people of Venezuela, of Colombia, of Iraq, Syria, Libya etc etc. Let these people choose their own leaders, their political systems, their way of life. It is none of the business of the American Empire.

Stop supporting and financing terrorist groups and terrorism. Start to make friends and make peace with the world. You need the rest of the world as they need you. The world has never been more connected and interdependent than before. All the monies could have make the world a better place to live in without going into making weapons of wars and conducting wars.

The One above is angry. Fight you may, you cannot win. This is not a war that you have designed and controlled. All your weapons are useless. You are hapless in the eyes of the ONE above. Go down on your knees and pray for forgiveness and pledge to do good instead of killing people as you wish, war collaterals, so convenient.

Now the Americans are dying, crying and suffering. You have no answers to this war except surrender to the ONE above and confess to your crimes against humanity. Pray, not fight, you cannot fight Him. You can only beg for mercy.

Remember, Trump does not become the President of the USA by accident. HE works in His own mysterious way to do what is right and good, not just for the Americans but for all his children in the whole world. Stop smearing, demonising and killing other people for your own good.

It is all coming back now. All the lives that the Americans have killed and ruined are asking for retribution.

Covid 19 - Fear factor and time for making tough calls
SINGAPORE: The number of locally transmitted and unlinked cases of COVID-19 in Singapore is increasing, said Health Minister Gan Kim Yong on Tuesday (Mar 31), as he stressed the importance of taking safe distancing measures seriously.

On average, there are 25 locally transmitted cases a day, Mr Gan said during a press conference that was held virtually on video conferencing....

“Particularly worrying are the unlinked cases. We have an excellent contact tracing team, and they are going all out to trace down each and every new case, identify the links,” Mr Wong said.
However, he cautioned that it will be “very difficult” for them as they go about doing their work, with new cases “popping up” every day. CNA

Exactly, when more and more cases are popping up, it will increasingly be more difficult to trace. And knowing how infectious this virus is, a missed case can mean many more infected cases. There was a time when Singaporeans need not worry too much when cases were few and easily traced and checked. At a time when daily cases were in the 1-3 bracket, I thought things were under controlled and improving.

Today we have 40 to 70 cases daily and more frightening, unlinked local cases average at 25. This is no joke. It is spreading in the community. This is serious. But this is subjective also depending on one's mindset on what is serious and what is not serious. The good thing is that there are many examples to learn from. We have seen how Italy, Spain and New York, USA failed so miserably. In fact the whole of Europe is going the Italian and American way.

When there were 15 cases, Trump said they would just go away, like a miracle. But many countries are not taking this lightly. Many countries have jumped the gun and went on to lock down their countries. Singapore is at a cross road, to lock down or not to lock down. Do we want to wait till we are like Italy and New York then decide to lock down? Or should we lock down now while we can, while the cases are still manageable and to nip it in the bud?

It is a tough call, but someone must make the call. And this is not rocket science but a political decision based on what is happening around the world. There are enough information and data and failed cases to learn from to make this decision, and it must be made now. Any dilly dally like clown Trump would see Singapore sinking into another Italy or New York.

The decision made by the govt today, to lock down or not to lock down would affect the situation in the next fortnight or next month. Only time will tell who is right and who is wrong. It is a judgement call.
