Dow managed a slight gain of 4 pts to close at 10325 on Friday. Trend is still looking up but slowing down a bit. Europe has opened strongly up and Dow's future is now +60. It is looking for a strong opening tonight.

Asian bourses rallied with Hangseng soaring to +448. Nikkei +46 and ShanghaiC +36. STI gapped up on opening and closed +23 at 2774. Gainers were 332 to 157 losers and volume was 1.5b shares.

After two weeks of consolidation the chart is indicating a break up. Both MACDs are pointing up slightly.

The market was firm for the whole session other than a slight pullback in the first hour. Gainers were quite widespread with second liners and speculative stocks making good gains. Top gainers were DBS +18, Venture +18, Wilmar +17, Elec +14, Yanlord +11, ChinaFish +11, SembMar +10. Losers were STXPO -76, UOB -26, APB -18, GreatEast -8, StTradg -6, PFood -4, UOI -4,JLJ -4, PohTC - 3.5.

The market looks like having bottom out and the big boys are back onto a buying phase. With all the bourses making gains, let's see how long will the buying be supported. Many stocks are still hovering on the low end and would take a while to recover from their recent sell down.

Dow gained 79 pts to close at 10404. The positive closing moved the MACDs to look north again and trend is up. Europe opened mixed while Dow's future is now -8.

Asian bourses closed slightly lower on profit taking. Nikkei +50, ShanghaiC -15, Hangseng -151. STI opened firm but also affected by profit taking to close at day low at 2772, -2pts. Gainers were 180 and losers were 288 with volume of 1.3b shares. Throughout the whole session I was wondering if anyone was in the market as the trading room was as quiet as a graveyard.

MACDs are still looking up but market looks like trading within a small range of 20 pts, between 2760 to 2780.

Top gainers were Jardine C&C +64, C20 +8.5, SIA +8, KepLand +8, SpLand +8, FortuneReit +7, Sarin +6.5. Losers were UOB -18, CityDev -12, Venture -8, Noble -7, IndoAgri -7, DairyFarm -7, SembCorp-7, DelongH -5, Ezra -5.

With retail participation at a low, I am wondering what kind of market it is now. I can imagine that the computer is doing all the buying and selling. There just wasn't any follow through with traders playing safe by turning to day trading.

Genting continued to be sold down. It lost 4c to close at 87. C20 was a big gainer among the penny stocks by adding 8.5c to close at 44.5.

Dow was up about 40 pts before being sold back down in the last 2 hours to close +2 at 10401, at day low. The selling down at closing is always seen as negative. Trend is still up and could be seen as an indication of a breaking up if not of the last minute selling. Europe opened slightly down while Dow's future is +2 at the moment.

Asian bourses were steady. Nikkei +31, ShanghaiC +24, Hangseng -29. STI opened up but fell to negative for most part of the day before closing +10.6 at 2783. Gainers were 171 to 279 losers and volume was 1.3b shares. Trend is up with MACDs both pointing up gently.

Top gainers were Jardine C&C +20, HKLand +20, FortuneReit +15, CityDev +14, SIA +8, GreatEast +8, ChinaFish +8, SIA Eng +8. Losers were UOB -8, STXPO -8, Creative -7, SGX -5, SpLand -5, Olam -5, F&N -5, Hyflux -5, Bukit Sem -4, StraitsAsia -4.

Property counters were firmer today. Genting seems to be holding at 87 after several days of sell down. The market though appearing to be slightly trending up is still range bound.

Dow was fairly steady last night and closed -9 at 10397. Trend is slightly up. Europe has opened down and Dow's future is now -10. So far Dow appears to be consolidating at this level with a small upward biased.

Asian bourses were hit by selling pressure. Nikkei -107, ShanghaiC -74, Hangseng -301. STI opened positive but was sold down when Hangseng weakened. It ended -14 at 2769. Still range bound. Gainers were 137 to 314 losers and volume was 1.2b shares.

Trend of STI is still not looking down but neither looking to run up.

Top gainers wereSTXPO +40, SIA +12, HLAsia +10, APB +10, KepCorp +8, DairyFarm +7, Noble +6, ChinaFish +6. Losers were Jardine C&C -34, Wilmar -18, SGX -16, DBS -10, Hyflux -9, Venture -8, UOB -6, CityDev -6. OUE -6. Banks and blue chips were mostly weaker.

Genting continued to be sold down after 87 failed to hold and closed at 84.5. It is going to be weak for the short term. S Chips and penny stocks too were mostly in the red. For the time, both STI and Dow are trading sideways without any direction.

Dow made another gain of 47 to close 10444. It has been up for the last few days and likely to be up tonight. Dow's future is +19 at the moment and Europe is also up. Trend is also up with both MACDs looking more positive.

Asian bourses were mostly up. Nikkei +223, ShanghaiC +8, Hangseng +212. STI closed near day high, +22 at 2790. Gainers were 310 to 144 and volume was 1.3b shares.

Trend is looking better with both MACDs looking up.

Top gainers were STXPO +88, Jardine C&C +68, SIA +66, Wilmar +14, Ezra +11, TigerAir +10, CityDev +10, IndoAgri +9, F&N +9. Losers were UOB -20, HawPar -7, HPL -3, PFood -2.5, Hengxin -2.5.

The market closed firm for a Friday helped by Genting recovering to 90.5. Speculative stocks were also firmer with banks slightly weaker.

Dow is looking for a good opening and may close positive to end the weak on a winning streak.

Dow had a strong closing on Friday, +122 at 10566. Uptrend is looking firmer. Dow's future is now marginally up and so is Europe. Indicators are up but not strong. Dow may consolidate on its Friday gain with small changes tonight.

Asian bourses rallied. Nikkei +217, ShanghaiC +22, Hangseng +409. STI closed +44 at 2835. It gapped up on opening and remained positive for the whole day. Gainers were 314 to 152 losers and volume was 1.5b shares. Sentiment looks good with banks making a comeback. Properties were marginally up. Genting continued to make gains with a new target price of $1.02 by a broking house. The Universal Studio opening is seen as a crowd puller.

Top gainers were Jardine C&C +78, STXPO +50, UOB +34, DairyFarm +31, OCBC +17, Hyflux +15, Wilmar +15, venture +14, DBS +14. Losers were SIA -28, MITech -3.5, ChinaJishan -3, RafflesMG -3, ManhattanRes -2.5, TrumpDragon -2.5.

Trend is firming up in line with other bourses.

A little consolidation at Dow last night. It closed -14 at 10553. Both MACDs are pointing north and the uptrend is holding. Dow's future is now -17 and Europe is marginally down.

Asian bourses also took a breather. Nikkei -18, ShanghaiC +16, Hangseng +11. STI traded in a tight 12 pt range and closed +5 at 2840. Gainers were 185 to 225 losers and volume was 1.2b shares. Trend is up with both MACDs looking up.

Top gainers were OUE +2.94, Jardine C&C +62, STXPO +12, KepLand +9, HLAsia +7, UOI +7, AscotReit +7, Yanlord +6, UE +6, GP Bat +6. Losers were DairyFarm -34, SIA -22, APB -20, CityDev -16, UOB -14, DBS -12, Venture -11, F&N -7, Hyflux -6.

Today is another day of directionless trading but steady. Property counters fared slightly better while banks were lower. Genting is holding steady at 91.5, -0.5. Commodities too were steady with palm oil prices still on the uptrend.

Europe and US are likely to trade sideways again tonight with Dow's future down slightly.

Dow was pretty strong in early trading but closed +12 at 10564. The uptrend is looking good. Europe opened flat while Dow's future is now -10.

Asian bourses were generally flat except for STI. Nikkei -4, ShanghaiC -20, Hangseng unchanged. STI +23 to close at 2862. Gainers were 359 to 152 losers and volume was 1.7b shares. The gains were across the board and it was the best run so far after the recent sell down. The main beneficiaries were the second liners and penny stocks. Commodity stocks were all firmer with palm oil price continuing to rise.

Uptrend is looking good.

Top gainers were SIA + 54, IndoAgri +15, UOB +12, GreatEast +10, GP Bat +10, Goodpack +9, TigerAir +8, SGX +7, First Res +7, Yangzijiang +7. Losers were OUE -18, SpLand -11, YeoHS -10, HawPar -7, JardineC&C -6, DTAC -6, Cortina -4, SIAEng -4.

The programme trading has switched to buy mode today. But becareful should it switches back to sell if Dow is weak tonight. Otherwise the trend is up.

Dow consolidated its gains by closing marginally higher at 10567, +3. Trend is up gently. Dow's future is now -20 and Europe is also down on opening. May see another consolidation tonight,

Asian bourses were still firm. Nikkei +101, ShanghaiC +2, Hangseng +20. STI +12 closing near day high at 2874. There were some profit takings in late morning. Gainers were 236 and losers were 231 with 1.5b shares done.

The uptrend firms up with both MACDs pointing north.

Top gainers were UOB +34, SembMar +14, STXPO +14, JardineC&C +12, DityDev +10, OCBC +10, KepCorp +9, SpLand +9. Losers were OUE -66, SIA -22, HiapHoe -9, ChinaFish -7, Wilmar -7, UOI -5, WBL -5,RH petrogas -4.5, Yanlord -3, Vicom -3.

Banks made further gains while marine stocks surged led by Kep Corp and SembMar. TigerAir continued to run up with better sales numbers. CapMallAsia +5 pending news of its inclusion as an index stock of STI. Market sentiment is firm.

Dow was up again, +45 closing at 10612. Trend is up but would it take some profit tonight? Dow's future is marginally down, -10 while Europe has opened marginally up.

Asian bourses closed mixed for the weekend. Nikkei +86, ShanghaiC -38, Hangseng -18. STI closed +7 at 2881. Gainers were 244 and losers were 207, volume was 1.4b shares. Trend is up and a very good closing for the week.

Top gainers were OUE +36, JardineC&C +28, UOB +18, KepCorp +15, CityDev +14, SIA +12, DBS +12, SGX +11. Losers were Vicom -9, Noble -8, SembMar -7, StraitsAsia -5, Meghmani -4, NOL -4, Ascendasreit -4.

The banks continued their run up and Kep Corp as well. Commodity counters weakened slightly. Penny stocks have started to become active and if Dow has a steady closing tonight penny stocks may come alive next week. Many of the blue chips have made quite good gains and should be heading sideways for the time being.

Dow completed 4 weeks of gains to close at 10625, +13 last Friday. It has been chalking up small and steady gains since the beginning of Feb. Trend is up. Dow's future is -27 now and Europe has opened marginally down.

Asian bourses pulled back slightly. Nikkei +1, ShanghaiC -36, Hangseng -131. STI opened up but closed near the day low at 2874, -7. Gainers were 189 to 262 losers and volume was a low 1b shares.

Trend is still up despite the slight retracement with banks posting losses.

Top gainers were JardineC&C +22, CityDev +20, KepCorp +7, BukitSem +7, Noble +6, HsuFuChi +6, HawPar +6, Avaplas +5.5, Wingtai +5. Losers were UOB -26, Wilmar -12, OUE -10, F&N -10, OCBC -9, DBS -8,SIA -6.

Our market was sideways today after the recent gains. It is taking a cautious stance and waiting for direction. There were some profit takings in banks and blue chips.

Dow was stable last night, chalking up another day of gains, +17 at 10642. Trend continues to look up with both MACDs point nicely up. Dow's future is now +13 and Europe is also up. Dow should open positive tonight.

Asian bourses were mixed and traded mostly sideways. Nikkei -30, ShanghaiC +16, Hangseng -56. STI closed at day high, +22 at 2896. Gainers were 238 to 181 losers and volume was 1.1b shares.

Trend is looking up in a ghost market.

Top gainers were ShangAsia +22, CityDev +22, OCBC +16, UOB +14, DBS +12, KepCorp +9, Capitaland +9, Raffles MG +9, DairyFarm +7, DTAC +7, SingTel +7, Ezra +7. Losers were JardineC&C -44, STXPO -40, OUE -28, VICOM -8, HawPar -6, SIA -4, GreatEast -4, Hyflux -4.

Market was positive most of the day but very quiet. STI surged up in the last half hour. Who is buying up the market? Volume was a pathetic 1.1b shares, probably done by computers. Sometimes one wonders what kind of market this is when there is a dearth of participation by investors.

Dow added another 44 pts last night to continue its slow and steady climb. It closed 10686. Trend is looking good. Dow's future is now +25 and Europe has opened positive.

Asian bourses stirred again and mostly were positive. Nikkei +125, ShanghaiC +58, Hangseng +362. STI +23 to close at 2919. Gainers were 364 to 145 and volume was 1.7b shares. Some signs of retail getting into the market. Otherwise another quiet day for programme trading.

STI is showing stronger signs of trending up after the break out on 8 Mar.

The gains today were across the market with banks and properties leading the charge. Top gainers were UOB +40, KepCorp +21, SGX +17, CityDev +12, Elec +11, DBS, Capitland, APB, F&N and OCBC all added 10c. Losers were RSH -5, Isetan -5, Creative -5, Raffles MG -3, GKGoh -2.5, SIA -2, ManOri -2, Noble -2, ChinaFish -2, DairyFarm -2, GP Bat -2.

The market is rising and waiting for retail punters to join the run. They are still mostly at the sideline, not convinced yet.

Dow looks good to extend its run tonight.

Dow was up 48 and closed at 10734. This broke the recent high in early January this year. Trend is up. Dow's future is -13 and Europe opened slightly down. Tonight could still see a positive run up and a little pull back tomorrow night for the weekend.

Asian bourses weaken slightly. Nikkei -103, ShanghaiC -4 and Hangseng -54. STI was also mixed and closed -5 at 2914. Gainers were 187 and 264 losers. Volume was 1.3b shares. Another day of ghost trading with hardly any phone ringing.

Trend is up.

While the blue chips were generally weaker, DBS and UOB were still net gainers. Top gainers were Jardine C&C +72, UOB +28, DBS +14, ST Eng +7, Hengyang +5, STXPO +4, Midas, Olam, Parkway, Guocoleisure and Chemind all +4. Losers were OCBC -17, HKLand -14, SIA -12, F&N -10, Creative -8, CityDev -8, SembMar -7, YeoHS -6, Yanlord -6.

Another uneventful day of trading. Market has been up several days but no retail support coming in. Tomorrow is Friday and likely to be weaker on some pull back.

Dow continues to trend up, +46 to close at 10779. It has broken the 10734 quite convincingly and this is good for the uptrend. Dow's future is now +6 while Europe is up. For a Friday it is quite normal for a little profit taking after a good run up. However, tonight could be a bit erratic due to the triple witching when stock future, stock indices and options expire. It could close up or down more than expected.

Asian bourses were generally firm. Nikkei +81, ShanghaiC +22, Hangseng +40. STI closed +2 at 2915, after a high of 2932. Gainers were 235 to 227 losers and volume was a low of 1b shares.

Trend is up.

We had our little witching when some blue chips were pushed up and down during matching. UOB lost ended at 1944 instead of 1964 at 5pm while SembMar was 394 instead of 404. Top gainers were ShangAsia +132, UOB +18, Venture +13, HKLand +13, HLAsia +11, Goodpack +9, DairyFarm +8, GreatEast +8. Losers were STXPO -76, Jardine C&C -56, DBS -46, SIA -16, KepCorp -14, HsuFuChi -12, Cerebos -10, Creative -10.

With blue chips still on the high side, next week could see more interest in penny stocks. They have started to move and inching up.
