The most powerful navy in Asia?

Many would say China or Russia or Japan. Wrong, very wrong. These countries may be strong, China or Russia may be able to give a bloody nose to the Americans if there is a war between them, but they are not really that strong, militarily. The USA is still the most powerful military country in the world, but they would think very hard to want to start a war with China. They would irritate and provoke China by their childish and mischievous acts of freedom of navigation. But when China responded aggressively with their warships, the Americans would complain that China is not observing the rule of engagement and would back off. They tried to push the Chinese but would scoot off when the Chinese pushed back.

The Americans would not go to war with China as they know that it is a war they could not win. But some countries in Asia would not think so and would challenge China militarily and would want to go to war with China. It used to be Vietnam, but after a few sea battles, Vietnam knows that they were no match to the PLAN despite defeating the American war machine during the Vietnam War.

The next candidate was the Philippines. They used to arrest Chinese and Taiwanese fishing boats and dragged them to Manila only to return the boats and crew after extracting a huge ransom. This went on for many years and their last act to intimidate China was with their biggest warship, a piece of antique donated by the American naval museum in an island tussle. The Chinese responded by surrounding the piece of antique with bigger warships and submarines that sent fear into the rogue Pinoy sailors. They quickly made a fast retreat citing lack of fuel and supplies. That was the last time the Chinese heard of the Pinoy pirates, and since then no more Chinese or Taiwnese fishing boats were arrested by the Pinoy pirates. Peace and order have returned to the South China Sea vis a vis China and the Philippines.

Recently two more powerful navies appeared in the South China Sea and have no fear in challenging the PLAN and would not hesitate to go to war with China. No, not the Australians or Brits or France, and definitely not the Canadians. They ageing little warships are no match for the Chinese navy. The new challengers are really very powerful navies. No, the little red dot would not dare to challenge China to war. They myth of punching above its weight has been exposed and trashed away.

One of the two powerful navies is the Malaysian Navy. Under Hishammuddin, when he was the Defence Minister, he threatened to send his powerful warships to attack Chinese warships. See how powerful is the Malaysian Navy. Even the Americans would not dare to do such a thing. The Chinese Navy would flee when they hear jihad or amok rising from the Malaysian Navy.

The other powerful Navy that could win a naval war against China is none other than the Indonesian Navy. They have sent in more than 1,000 soldiers into the Natuna Islands and built a big naval complex in preparation for a war with the Chinese Navy. They are very confident of defeating the Chinese Navy and told the Chinese that they would defend their territorial waters fiercely against the Chinese Navy.

China got to be very careful when operating in the South China Sea with these two big naval powers in the same area. For their own safety, China is best advised to stay away from the South China Sea and run when the Malaysian Navy or Indonesian Navy is in the vicinity. Don’t play play with the two most powerful Navies in South East Asia.

The truth about the rioters and arsonists in Hong Kong protest
As the rioting and destruction get more serious by the days, the truth of this fake democracy and freedom movement is getting clearer. The idiots are waving the American flags and calling for Trump to intervene, maybe sending American boys and girls to fight for their fake democracy and freedom cause. Would the Americans be as stupid as the rioters and arsonists to die for their delusion?
The stupidity in the Hongkongers has been exposed. The myth that they are pragmatic and smart people is starring down at them. They were supposed to be innovative, creative and clever business people that would easily grasp what is good for them, not wild imaginations and useless idealism. The prosperity of Hong Kong in pre handover days and post handover days was political circumstances in the earlier case and the generosity of China when it returned to China.
The Hongkongers could not see these and believed that the prosperity of Hong Kong was due to their industry and cleverness. Never have they been so wrong, never have the academics and historians been so wrong in their conclusions. When the Cold War was waged by the West to contain China, Hong Kong was the only window and gateway for China to trade with the rest of the world. Everything in and out of China went through Hong Kong. How not to prosper as a conduit of goods with little value add, little creativity and innovation, no need technology and engineering? Has Hongkong produced anything worthy other than a middleman and overpriced housing?
After the return to 1997, China bent backwards to ensure Hong Kong prospers as a rich city of China and offered exceptional assistance to make sure this happened. The generosity and magnanimity of China were taken for granted, ignored and refused to be acknowledged. The Hongkongers continued with their smugness and delusion that Hong Kong’s success was due to them. And they believed that they could survive and prosper on their own, maybe with western crutches, without China. How silly and naďve the Hongkongers have proven to be.
Now this fake protest that is turning more violent by the day, for what? The Extradition Bill was not an encroachment or erosion of their freedom or democracy. It was a criminal bill, to bring Hongkongers that committed crimes overseas to justice. It was initiated by the Hong Kong govt, not by China. An extradition bill is a normal bill that many countries have signed with their counter parts to ensure criminals did not go free. Going against this bill is protecting criminals, not about democracy or freedom.
The Hong Kong govt has formally withdrew this Bill but the rioting and protest continue with increasing violence and destruction. Maybe this is a good thing. Let Hong Kong burn, let there be blood and carnage on the streets, inflicted by the rioters and arsonists and thugs. Let these be the reasons for the Hong Kong govt to come down hard on the arsonists.
The fake protest and lawlessness must come to an end. Hong Kong and the Hongkongers would pay the ultimate price for exposing their stupidity and silliness and for betraying the Chinese people and becoming the running dogs of the West.

Shameful Hong Kong activists crying to their white fathers in Washington
A few Hong Kong activists appeared in the American Congress urging ‘members of the US Congress to pass legislation to combat human rights abuses in the city, rejecting any suggestion that such a move would be inappropriate US involvement in another country’s affairs,’ reported by Reuters.
According to this singer activist Denise Ho, ‘This is not a plea for so called foreign interference. This is a plea for democracy.’ Does she have a brain? Is Hong Kong a colony of the USA? Is Denise Ho a citizen of Hong Kong or a Canadian?
Another idiot, Joshua Wong, said, ‘Beijing should not have it both ways, reaping all the economic benefits of Hong Kong’s standing in the world while eradicating our sociopolitical identity.’ This is another case of stupidity has no cure. This boy is still living in the 19th Century when China was weak and poor and at the mercy of the white imperialists and colonialists. He still believes that the white imperialists and colonialists are strong enough, and China weak enough, for them to walk into Hong Kong to whip the Chinese. I can’t believe the Hongkongers believe in the silliness of these kids, thinking that Hong Kong belongs to them and the Americans and they could ask the whites to tell China what to do.
And they blamed all this to ‘the creeping interference by Beijing in Hong Kong’s affairs, despite promise of autonomy.’ And this creeping interference is due to the Extradition Bill to bring criminals to justice proposed by the Hong Kong legislature, not China. What has the Extradition Bill got to do with creeping interference by China? Who is misleading who?
An extradition bill is a normal international agreement between two administrative states to bring to justice criminals committing vicious crimes in their respective countries. If an Extradition Bill is interference in another country’s affair, then all the countries with Extradition Bills are also guilty of this allegation.
How many stupid people believe in this childish logic? Only the unthinking will think so, that an Extradition Bill on criminals is interference in another country. In legal terms, to use this as a cause is a miscarriage of justice.
The few traitors would have been executed on their return in Imperial China, but not in modern China. Hongkongers must know that the reprieve they are having, under the one country and two systems would come to an end in less than 28 years. The 50 year grace period is not to let Hong Kong to run continuously under a different system but to be gradually merged with China under one China one system. The earlier Hongkongers get this message into their heads, the earlier they adapt to the system in China the better it would be in their interest. By the end of the 50 year grace period, there will be no more one country two systems. Period. The Basic Law is only for an interim period, not to be permanent, to facilitate the gradual integration of Hong Kong into China proper, not to be totally different from China.
The reality, Hong Kong is a part of China. A tiny piece of rock cannot change the whole of China or be different from China. The protesters and those that cannot live with China when China takes over Hong Kong fully have the choice to leave Hong Kong. They can leave Hong Kong, but Hong Kong cannot leave China. 2m Hongkongers can leave Hong Kong, China. 2m Hongkongers cannot be allowed to disrupt the stability and security of 1.4b people in China.

Hong Kong - A festering wound turning cancerous
More violence on the streets of Hong Kong. More burning, arson, fighting and more deaths are on the card. Anti rioting citizens beaten or burnt by the rioters. Rioter shot by the police. The recipe for violence against the police and govt of Hong Kong continues unabated and getting more and more destructive, and deadly.

What is the main difference between this violent protest and the historical protests against the colonial govt, against foreign invaders? In this Hong Kong case, the rioters are not protesting to drive out foreign invaders and colonialists, they are rioting to break free from China, to become a new state, a separatist movement.

The reality and practicality of such a movement is ludicrous. Hong Kong cannot survive on its on as a separate entity economically. The next reality is that Hong Kong is an integral part of China, just like Taiwan and Macau. A strong and unified China has no reason to let Hong Kong break away and is able to resist any foreign intervention to wrestle Hong Kong away from China.

China has many cards to play and foreign conspirators and agitators at most could only give lip service and no direct military, financial or any kind of support without facing the wrath of China. The ridiculous violent nature of the protest, the threats to life and property, could be put to an equally violent end should China choose to do so but not willing to do so to avoid more death of its own people. Is this a bigger evil than to let the unthinking youths and their unthinking supporters to continue to run amok in Hong Kong?

China can wait for as long as Hong Kong is allowed to burn itself down. The rioters, terrorists and arsonists could go on to destroy Hong Kong as a viable economy, turn it into a war zone. As long as the problem is contained in Hong Kong, Hong Kong can be dragged into a bottomless pit by the rioters for as long as they so chose. There is no sympathy for the thoughtless and mindless Hongkongers who think they could break Hong Kong away from China. Such naivety of the Hong Kong people is laughable.

In the meantime China would just wait it out and let Hong Kong burn itself out. Hong Kong would become a cancerous open wound that would be allowed to waste away. At the rate it is going, it would not take long before the Hong Kong house collapses on its own. Hong Kong would have to be destroyed, by the Hongkongers, before it is rebuilt to be an inalienable part of China.

Let there be more violence and more killings. Let the rioters and terrorists attacked and killed more policemen and Hongkoners that don't agree with them. Only then could China come in to wipe the killers and murderers out of Hong Kong. Violence would be met with violence. China is letting the world witness how destructive and deadly are the Hong Kong terrorists before moving in to shoot them on sight.

Let it burn, let Hong Kong burn to the ground, by the stupid an unthinking Hongkongers.

Hong Kong District Council Election - Hongkongers no longer naive?
'Hong Kong’s voters have turned out in record numbers to deliver a landslide for pro-democracy campaigners and a powerful rebuke to the government in local elections that were widely seen as a proxy referendum on the city’s protest movement....

According to preliminary results from partial counts, pro-democracy politicians should have control of 17 of the city’s 18 district councils, a sea change in Hong Kong politics, where pro-Beijing and government politicians have enjoyed a wealth of resources and support from the elite sectors.

“I would not use the word happy, but we have made progress towards a situation where we can fight back against the government,” said Clarisse Yeung, an artist-turned-politician who led campaigning in the Wan Chai district, and announced the shift of power with tears in her eyes.

“It’s important because we all know that we have been sacrificing too much in the past few months,” she said. “Hong Kong people are no longer naive. We have to prepare ourselves, we have to have faith in ourselves to bring change.”'

The above is from a report in Yahoo News describing how successful is the pro democracy movement in the district councillor election. 3 million voters turned out to give a big victory to pro democracy movement and they are now ready to take on China's 1.4b people.

'Hong Kong people are no longer naive?' Really, 3 million is a very big number, like a frog in a well would say the sky is so big when looking up. The hysteria and ecstatic cries to claim a big victory for democracy and maybe a break from China are in the air. If this is not stupidity what else is.

Is this really a victory and will change anything in Hong Kong, that Hong Kong can become an independent break away state of China, that Hong Kong can run its own political system to undermine the political system of 1.4b people in China that they hated so much?

What do you think, Hongkongers are no longer naive?

Li Ka Shing, Hong Kong's fallen superman
Anyone wondering why financial wealth is also called fortune? He made a fortune, amassed a fortune. Is it because the making of such wealth is in some way related to being fortunate, being lucky? Heard of lucky fools and why the smartest human beans often are quite ordinary in wealth or fortune, just merely getting by?

Li Ka Shing is China's or Asia's richest man. Many Chinese in Hong Kong, very rich, though not as rich as him, have contributed their wealth and fortune to the state and society. Chow Yun Fatt contributed all his wealth to charity. There are many that contributed hundreds of millions of their wealth, as much as 80 or 90 per cent to charity or state. One very rich Hong Kong billionaires built hundreds of schools in China as his contribution to state and society.

The equivalents in the West, like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, have pledged their fortunes to charity as well, to help the needy around the world. These men have realised that they could not possibly make use of all their wealth in several lifetimes. The financial wealth becomes in a way meaningless the more they make. Making another few millions or another few hundred millions would not change their lives.

Li Ka Shing is in such a fortunate position, money jiat buay leow for several generations. Why would he not use some of his spare cash to contribute to society, not that he is not. But why would he fell on the wrong side of the state by not doing so? It is hard to explain why such rich billionaires would do what they are doing, in this case, Li Ka Shing, the most important man in Hong Kong and perhaps China, monetary wise, to jeopardise all the goodwill he had by doing something so contrary and now likely to be disowned by China and never to return? His support for the independence movement and mass protests is now openly spoken.

He has all the wealth and good fortune to do many things for Hong Kong and the Hongkongers, like sharing or distributing his land holdings to build more affordable housing for the Hongkongers. Perhaps by supporting the mass protests and independence movement is what he thinks is where he should put his money with. Is this the right thing, the wise thing to do? Or is this a moment to expose his limited intellect and wisdom?

Li Ka Shing does not need to spend much of his huge fortune to remain in the good books of Beijing and earns himself a fine mention in the history of China and Hong Kong. He chose to do and act differently, believing that what he was doing was the right and good for Hong Kong and the Hongkongers.

History will tell whether he did the right or wrong thing. Would he be resurrected as a saviour of China and Hong Kong? Or would he go down in Chinese history as a traitor to China and the Chinese Civilisation? His wisdom is now being questioned and will be judged sometime in the future for backing a right or wrong cause.

This Hong Kong superman can only fly in the skies of America and Europe, anywhere, except China and Hong Kong. He may even lose his citizenship and has to take up foreign citizenship after this fiasco is over.

PS. I have put up a link on the right column for a new blog by my good friend Dr Teo Kah Beng, Asia Pacific Security. This is a more serious and intellectual blog for those who want to read something more challenging. There are also some entertaining postings and videos for a little relaxation. Please take a look.

When would mainland Chinese start to hate Hongkongers
The violent protest in Hong Kong continues unabated after more than 6 months of continuous mass protests and the beating up of mainland Chinese. The protest is not only about China taking over to rule Hong Kong. Deep inside the psyche of the Hongkongers is the hate against China, anything Chinese and against mainland Chinese. They have been brought up as subjects of the British Empire, read English literature, history and culture and think they are different from mainland Chinese. They are emotionally and psychologically more British than Chinese.

The last 20 years of One Country Two System did not change anything as the educational institutions were dominated by pro British teachers and lecturers teaching them Hong Kong is not a part of China and their loyalty is to the Queen of England. And the govt administration, including the civil servants and the judiciary systems are infested with foreigners ruling in the interest of the British Empire.

The Hongkongers hate China and Chinese and do not regard themselves as Chinese, or at the a big majority of the Hongkongers are from their participation in the mass protest. This cannot be taken lightly and would need at least a couple generation of reeducation to change the mindset of the Hongkongers. The Hongkongers of today, from as young as secondary schools, are already imbued with the hate China and hate Chinese mentality. It would need a major purging to change this mindset.

It is very surprising that despite the numerous violence encounters when mainland Chinese were attacked on sight, mainland shops and businesses being burned and looted, there is still no anti Hongkonger calls in mainland China. The mainland Chinese, 1.4b of them, have been reticent about the vulgarity, violence and stupidity of the Hongkongers against them. This hate China and hate Chinese movement has also expressed itself in many western cities and institutions of higher learnings.

I used the word stupidity to describe this low thinking mindset and behaviour of the Hongkongers is from the fact that a mere 5m of them have the gumption and thoughtlessness in hating and beating up 1.4b mainland Chinese. When the mainland Chinese decide that enough is enough and no more of the Hongkongers' nonsense and start to attack them on sight, there would be no place to hide and no place to run for the Hongkongers. This is like a few little boys running around trying to beat adults on sight. They would be trampled to bits and pieces.

If the Hongkongers do not rethink and stop their silliness, it is a matter of time when the mainland Chinese would turn to attack them on sight, in China, in Hong Kong and in all the cities around the world.

Hong Kong turning into Riot City
HONG KONG: More than 1,000 people in Hong Kong rallied peacefully in support of China's ethnic Uighurs on Sunday (Dec 22), waving Uighur flags and posters in the city's financial district, marking the latest demonstration in over six months of anti-government unrest.

Dozens of police marched across a public square overlooking Hong Kong's harbour to face off with protesters who hurled glass bottles and rocks at them. CNA

The above is the latest protest and riot in Hong Kong. These unthinking, selfish and simple minded kids think demonstration and rioting is fun. After running out of steam from their democrazy and independence movement, getting no where, there are grabbing on anything that the Americans want them to do. They would grab any excuses to go rioting in the streets.

This time, the most anti Muslim country, the country that has been killing Muslims by the thousands daily for decades, has put up the pretence of protecting Muslims in Xinjiang, China. They have forgotten their farcical supports for the terrorist Muslim groups that ended up with the attack on American soil in 911. To the evil Americans, creating trouble and setting other countries in flame are their main objective, to have wars and instability in other people's homeland, not in American soil.

The silly Hong Kong youth could not understand that the Americans are using them to destroy their homeland, their own country China. They think revolution is a tea party. They did not know that the next step is bloodshed, their blood would spill on the streets of Hong Kong.

Once Beijing decided enough is enough and take the final course of action, many of these kids would be crying, some would not as they would be wrapped up in black plastic bags. As Hong Kong deteriorates into a mindless Riot City, the consequences are expected. It would be the time for the Hongkongers to disappear, to flee or be forced out of their homes and country. This diseased generation of Hong Kong people would no longer be accepted and tolerated in China as they are purely destructive and anti China and anti mainland Chinese. They have no place in China and have to be removed or destroyed. Reeducation camps would be useless to this rootless, prideless and shameful people.

Hongkongers are smart and practical people?
