Bunga Kantan (Torch Ginger Flower)
Bunga kantan is used widely in Penang-style asam pedas...but difficult to get in Europe, US and Australia.

An Indonesian friend, shared with me, this recipe to remove uric acid. I have used it and it works. Cheap and effective method for gout sufferers.

Take 3 shoots of Bunga Kantan (ginger flower – (as used in our famous Asam Laksa). Boil it in 4-5 litres of water. Reduce it till it’s down to about 3 litres. Use it as your daily intake of water.

How Garlic Does More Than Ward Off Vampires

An old saying goes that if you eat garlic, you are sure to shy away vampires at night. But what is the origin of this saying and does it really have any significance?

The notion that garlic can kill off vampires and other creatures of the night was a folk belief that was once common among Central European communities. It was thought that garlic's overwhelming pungency would ward off demons, werewolves and vampires, and traditionally would be worn, hung in windows or rubbed around the entrance to the house. Other cultures believe that garlic is a relic of Satan that should be avoided at all costs. Although these superstitions may seem outlandish, there happens to be a bit of useful truth in their purpose.

Garlic is the most powerful antibiotic cure nature has to offer. This unsuspecting herb can be used to treat a number of heart and blood-related conditions, such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol, and is even used by some to prevent common cancers, like stomach, colon and even breast cancer. This is due to a chemical in the garlic called allicin, the same element that makes the garlic smell and probably the reason for the folk belief on vampires.

Studies have shown that allicin can aid tremendously in weight loss and may even help cure the common cold. Yet it is important to note that the wonderful powers of garlic are optimized when the garlic is completely raw, peeled and crushed, and when it is consumed only as a medicine. The ways to use garlic to fend off real-life vampires like the flu and other diseases:

1. Cold and Fever Cure

An effective cold and fever cure is garlic tea. To make the tea boil some water and crush 1-2 cloves of fresh garlic (peeled) into the bottom of the mug. Then add the hot water, lemon and a bit of honey (to ease the taste) and drink it all down at once. Repeat as often as possible until the fever or cold symptoms subside.

2. Treat Skin and Fungal Infections

To treat skin or fungal infections, garlic can be used topically on a daily basis. Apply a sliced of garlic to a wart spot regularly (about 2-3 times per day) and be amazed at the improvement! The wart or corn may not completely disappear, but any discomfort will subside.

3. Garlic as an Antibiotic

As mentioned above, in order to use garlic as an antibiotic, it is best not to consume the herb regularly. Studies have shown that eating raw garlic at the onset of food poisoning can kill off the deadly E.coli, Staph and Salmonella bacteria. Chop up garlic and drink it in a tea, this time without lemon, and a bit of honey, and the poisoning is sure to subside.

4. For Those That Can't Stand the Taste

If you are not a big fan of garlic or its taste, there are some allicin supplements that can be store-bought and taken as needed. It is important to remember, however, that the potency of the allicin depends on its preparation, and it can change into a different chemical quickly. For this reason, it is best to by the most natural version of an allicin vitamin where it is available, or stomach the taste of raw garlic just when you are sick.

5. Bug Repellent

Another way to use garlic harks back to the tell-tale vampire myth. Smearing garlic over the skin not only prevents against bacterial or fungal infections, but can also ward off mosquitos and ticks quite effectively. One village in India uses only garlic to deter the deadly Malaria mosquitos and can attest to the natural and harmless effectiveness of garlic. All that remains is to overcome the sharp smell!

Garlic in its many forms can be used to treat and prevent a variety of diseases and conditions, and, just as the folklore suggests, is nature's miracle solution for warding off the bad.

One cup lemon juice

One cup apple cider vinegar

One cup garlic juice

One cup ginger juice

Mix the 4 juices together ( 4 cups in total ) , then boil unti there are 3cups of liquid left. When COOLED, ADD three cups (3) of pure honey and mix well. Put into a container and refrigerate. Take up to 15ml ( Three teaspoons ) daily every morning before breakfast.

Am sceptical but when in dire circumstances, no loss trying easily available tapioca cooked simply and tasting yummy.
Now no need to look for apricot seeds. The tasty ubi kayu also can kill Cancer.

My wonder drug for cancer

Please let me share my happy experience with you. I wrote about it in February 2010 but now with added knowledge I write with many other peoples' experience.

My experience

I developed secondary bladder cancer after seven years following cancer in the urethra. My kidney, urethra and part of the bladder was removed. I had radiation to the abdomen there after. It was transitional cell carcinoma of the urethra. I was hale and hearty for seven years and during this period I had yearly examinations of the bladder by the fantastic surgeon who did the surgery at General Hospital Colombo.
In the seventh year I experienced blood in the urine as I had developed a growth in the bladder. It was once again transitional cell carcinoma (Cancer). The new growth was removed but what if it recurred? While I was convalescing I came to know of a treatment by eating Apricot seed kernel that was being used in Australia and USA without any chemotherapy. The information on this is found in the web site MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "" claiming to be http://www.worldwithoutcancer./.org/ .
In a nutshell, how it acts on the cancer is thus. The apricot seed kernel has a substance called Vitamin B17, which was discovered by a British doctor who worked in a remote region in Afghanistan as a missionary. He found the people of the area measured their riches according to the number of Apricot trees they owned. They ate not only the apricots but also the apricot seed kernels. The apricot seed kernel looks like an almond in shape, size and smell. This is also known as the "bitter almond." The doctor discovered that people of the region did not suffer from cancer. After investigating the doctor found that the seed kernel contained a substance, which has been given the name Vitamin B17.
As I was having cancer I was curious about any food, which had B17 in our regular food. I found by browsing on the internet that manioc also had a large concentration of Vitamin B17. So I also ate the manioc minimum of 10 grams three times a day. Having consumed it for 1 month I underwent examination of my bladder (cystoscopy) at the General Hospital by the same surgeon. He was surprised that my bladder was absolutely clean and normal. "There was no place to take any biopsy" was his very words to me.
While I was taking the manioc I was feeling very fit and well and people around me notice that I looked well.
Armed with the examination results of the bladder examination I published my story for well-being of all cancer patients in Sri Lanka .
Since then every three months I have gone for examination of the bladder under the same surgeon and every time my bladder was clear. Until now I have not taken any treatment other than eating the manioc.
In a more simplistic way I would like to explain how the Vitamin B17 in the manioc acts. The scientific name of vitamin B17 is Amygdaline. We know that cancer cells are immature cells and it has a different enzyme to the normal cell enzyme.
When the Vitamin B17 combines with a normal cell enzyme it breaks down into 3 sugars but when it combines with the cancer cell enzyme it breaks into 1 sugar 1 benzaldehyde and 1 hydrocyanic acid. The hydrocyanic acid kills the cancer cell locally.
What happens is that there is a substance called B17 in the apricot seed kernel (and in manioc), which when combined with a normal cell enzyme breaks down into three sugars.
When B17 combines with a cancer cell (an immature cell) it breaks down into one sugar, one benzaldehyde and one hydrocyanic acid. The hydrocyanic acid kills the cancer cell.

Others' experiences

I have been receiving frequent information from people with cancer who have read my first article about their experiences with the usage of manioc. I would like to share this information with you readers.
Mr. Pereira is an 70-year-old gent who was diagnosed with prostate cancer. His wife is a retired Matron of the General Hospital . Mrs Pereira read my article and had decided to try the manioc treatment because of the following reasons. The oncologist he was consulting had prescribed a tablet costing Rs. 2000/ daily and an injection that cost him Rs. 11000, which he had to have weekly.
As retired pensioners this was too much to afford. Also Mr. Pereira who took the tablets and the injections for a few days refused to take it as it was making him very sick. Hearing of his illness his daughter came from USA to look after him and the daughter and his wife decided to feed him manioc instead of the tablets and injections that were prescribed. When he went on the manioc diet in a week he showed signs of wellness and after eating every morning a large breakfast of manioc for a month they took a test that he was to take after taking the tablets and injections and went to see the oncologist. He took with him the results of the PSA blood test.
Ever since he was diagnosed with the cancer the PSA test results were 280-290 but after 1 month of eating manioc it was now down to PSA 5.89! Then they came to see me too and showed me the PSA results of before and after. This gentleman (Mr. Pereira) is not showing any cancer symptoms and they call me regularly to say that he is now hale and hearty.
Another gentleman who had a liver cancer had surgery in Sri Lanka but a little spot of cancer was left behind according to the subsequent MRI scan.
He then was told to go and have a detailed MRI scan done in India at a very high cost.
He started to take manioc soon after liver cancer surgery. When he did go for the detailed MRI scan in India his Oncologist in India , after examination, informed him that he did not need to undergo any surgery or treatment because the spot had not enlarged for a whole year.
He was asked to continue as before. He came and met me and he looks a picture of health now.
I am very interested and encouraged by the feedback I am getting all the time from people who call me to tell their story. Especially as the exorbitant prices of the anti cancer drugs don't also offer a cure. My cousin who grew up next door had cancer before I knew about the manioc. She spent Rs. 40-50,000 for each injection, suffered phenomenally and died a miserable death. (Those of you who watch HBO on the Dialog TV may have seen a film titled "Death Be Not Proud" which depicts the sufferings of a cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy. That patient died). So I thought I must promote these experiences, give them publicity.
No fancy drug companies have done super duper tests on Vitamin B17 on manioc, why not try it? It is cheap, easy to obtain, easy to cook and very tasty and you will be well and not have side effects. So for what more can you ask? As we all know manioc can kill if the preparation is not done correctly.

Please take the following precautions in preparation.
A. When choosing a yam to be cooked make sure the yam does not have any blemishes or discoloured areas. And try to buy freshly harvested manioc
B. When boiling, keep the pot open throughout the cooking. This helps the excess hydrocyanic acid to evaporate

C. Keep excess water for the boil and pour it out after boiling the yam

D. Do not consume ginger or food containing ginger such as ginger biscuits, ginger beer, and ginger ale for at least 8 hours after consuming manioc.

Many gout sufferers report drinking 1-2 tablespoons of raw unfiltered and organic apple cider vinegar in a glass of at least 8 ounces of water. Some will drink this 2-3 times a day for better results. ACV can also be used as topical treatment. You you can soak your foot for about 30 minutes in a bucket full of 4 cups of hot water and 1 cup of apple cider vinegar. You can also soak a clean, dry cloth in apple cider vinegar and wrap it around the affected area for about 15 minutes.

2. Baking Soda: Another extremely popular natural home remedy for gout sufferers is baking soda. Like apple cider vinegar, it makes your body more alkaline. Many consume ½ a teaspoon in a glass of 8 oz. water.Many will repeat this throughout the day until they have consumed at least 3 teaspoons of baking soda. Avoid this home remedy if suffering from high blood pressure and try to limit salt intake in your meals during the day when taking baking soda. Baking soda is very high in sodium. In one study conducted with 600 people suffering from gout, it was concluded that eating half a cup serving of cherries daily (10-12 cherries) resulted in a 35% reduced risk of a successive gout attack. For those eating 2 or even 3 servings in a day, their risk dropped to 50%! But that is too much sugar as well which can cause other health ailments. Just try it if you've got uric acid after all no harm done.
This is a really effective, just mix green papaya cubes to the ordinary green tea, my cousin-brother tried and found it very effective.
I have also shared with a friend with gout to try this (his "toe joints" started to deform), after a week of drinking this formula there is significant improvement, and after two weeks the toe joints heal and revert to normal state.
It is almost three years now, the joint pain is gone, but he maintains the intake between 1-3 times monthly to avoid relapse.
Other friends suffering from years of gout problem have also recovered.

Cut green papaya into small cubes, place into the water, bring to boil, then add tea leaves, similar to the tea-making process.
Clinical tests show that this brings better effects for treatment of gout, subject to frequent drinking of this formula.

Mr. Liu Qing, Chief of the Rende Town in Tainan, was suffering for years from severe stomach pain around the posterior wall of stomach.
He used green papaya as a tea pot to prepare the family tea daily, after a month, his chronic disease condition was much improved.
His family members with high uric acid were also healed by the same papaya tea.
For this Mr. Liu planted a lot of papaya to share with relatives and friends with similar sickness.

According to Mr. Liu, in selecting the green papaya as tea pot, pick those the shape of which is fat and short, with larger capacity.
Cut off the top part of the papaya, clear away the seeds, open a small hole at the upper side wall to facilitate pouring of tea.
Create a small ventilation hole at top cover, put in the tea leaves, pour in boiling water, place the top cover back onto the papaya, you may also use the toothpicks to secure the top cover.
Similar to normal process of preparing tea.

Green papaya should be harvested when the papaya is approximately three months old, when the fruit is still firm, and the "papaya milk" contains high papaya enzyme and other healthy ingredients.
Not only the green papaya can be used in tea drinking, you may also cut them into cubes, and boil with the ribs, or even slicing the green papaya into fine long pieces and fried with garlic, very tasty, and no adverse effects on the human body.
